I was another customer seduced by eggs great promises of 0% per cent balance transfer rate on my bottomless hole (the overdraft) and my credit cards. They have saved me hundreds of pounds this last 6 months. No doubt.
The application procedure was excellent - you can apply on line and they give you a decision on a credit card within minutes. The application form is pretty standard too - and took about 5 minutes to complete.
The egg on-line website is excellent, its easy to navaigate and very user friendly. When I have contacted egg either by e-mail or telephone the staff are excellent - I even considered switching my mortgage to them, because I liked the idea of being able to see my account on-line.
However, im at the end of my 6 months at 0% percent and like a large proportion of the credit card market I have found a new mistress, the alliance & leicester credit card, which now offers me 0% on balance transfers for the next 6 months.
I just think its strange that even though i've received impeccible service im deserting Egg. Does anyone else think that we have as a consumer market become fickle, and old fashioned values of service and loyalty have gone down the drain?
At the end of the promotional period Egg's card is very run of the mill although their service is oustanding. I feel a little guilty to leave them, but this is the nature of the credit card beast.

I still have an EGG card, and never run up large bills, but I can't help feeling I'm being ignored as a customer in favour of people with large debts who get offered this kind of carrot. I honestly don't think you can blame yourself for taking them up on it when they just keep on offering. Chris.
