Its come to that time of year again where I have to log on and go from car insurance site to site evaluating many differing quotes!!, But for a change this year I am staying with the same insurance company as the previous year -- EGG(for the first time in my driving life!).

I am 24 years old and have struggled with high insurance quotes from the age of 17. Having said that I have always had and still have a 100% driving record. It still truly amazes me to see the vast difference in quotations on todays market, this year the highest variance was £792 (fully comprehensive) which is quite remarkable!.

To fill you in a bit more I drive a Saxo VTS which has an insurance group of 14 and some of the quotes I have had since purchasing this car have been shocking!! but NOT with Egg!!. They truly seem to give fair quotes to young drivers and this is not just based on having a totally clean record as I have a friend who also uses Egg and she has had one accident and 3 points but Egg still came out the cheapest.

So how cheap are they? well this year their quote for fully comprehensive cover was £349.65 which is at least £180 CHEAPER than any other quote I have recieved for this goup of insurance.

The smart say you only find out how good your insurance company are when you have an accident and need their assistance, unfortunately or fortunately which ever way you look at it!! I have not put them to the major test of car replacement or repair BUT again having recommended this company to others I have second hand experience of EGGs dealings and they are fast and efficient.

What kind of excess to they charge? This I believe could be higher than a few but still cheaper than most. The windscreen excess is £75 for full replacement, The standard excess for claims of value is £250. Egg also guarantee all their repair work for three years which I feel is a long period/warranty.

All else thats worth writing about is the simplicity of their website from the purpose of obtaining quotes, and also they offer discounts for purchasing on-line. So my advice is to at least obtain a quote from Egg because I really have searched the net for cheap deals and feel many people may be very pleasently surprised!!
