I transferred my mortgage from Halifax to Egg about 8 months ago, the reason for this was the discount period on my mortgage had ended and I was paying quite a high rate of interest, I hunted around and found that Egg offered a very good interest rate without any penalty clauses for moving my mortgage elsewhere at a later date (should I ever wish to). I now have a variable rate mortgage and am paying about £80.00 per month less than what I used to. The application and transfer procedure was very easy and completely handled by Egg (I used their recommended solicitors), in total it took no longer than 6 weeks to transfer the mortgage and I only had to fill one application form and sign a few documents (most of the application was completed on the internet). Since moving my mortgage I have had no problems and I am very pleased with the service.
