Dont get egg on your face

Advantages: good intrest rates and security
Disadvantages: all online

At egg there are many good products, here i will talk about my experience with mortgages, credit cards and savings.
Each have low intrest rates for aprs and a good rate for saving, the mortgage is standardly low.
The egg card is also a good deal with 0.5% cash back on all purchases an intrest free period on balance transfers of 6 months, and an interet free period of 52 days from your billing date.
I highly recommend egg as a ...
...Although prudential plans to sell egg this may be a good time to get in on the act with mortgages and shares as any takeover could be fruitfull.

Egg credit card - appallingly bad technology

Advantages: It's a credit card
Disadvantages: More like a postal service than an Internet card

I've been an Egg customer sunce the card was launched and recently wanted to change my direct debit to pay a different amount on the due date. Reading the small print Egg say they need seven (yes, seven!) days notice for this. So I just cancelled the direct debit with bank (days notice required - one) and paid Egg with a debit card. Since then I've had about six text messages and three telephone calls from Egg wanting me to pay them now because I cancelled the DD. I sent them an email explaining why but just got a cut and paste answer, I don't think anybody actually read the eamil at all. I've set up a new DD, but apparently that takes ten (yes, ten!) working days notice! So I'm still getting calls blaiming me for not being able to pay them - wghich I will, but manually. They really need to get their systems into the 21st century ...

Egg Card

Advantages: Interest Rate, Cashback and Online management
Disadvantages: None

I have had my Egg card for about 8 months now and I have been very impressed, in particular the interest rate is the best around. I had a balance on another credit card which I transferred to my egg card and I now pay a lot less in interest payments. The Egg card has no annual fee, but even better it actually gives you cashback on goods that you purchase (1% on most, 2% on associate purchases). One of the great things about this card is that you can view you balance or any of your statements online (infact you can only manage your account online), you also make payments into your account by direct debit which you setup online and can change each month. The application for the credit card was very simple and mainly done online. Overall this is the best credit card available. ...

Review of Egg Card

Excellent - but keep looking

Advantages: Cashback credit card
Disadvantages: Withdrawal envelopes cannot be ordered from website

I've had my egg account for about a year now and have had no real complaints with the service in all that time. The website's annoying of course - full of pointless pictures and applets that take ages to load - but aren't they all? This is tolerable in view of the fact that egg's accounts still pay high interest rates (although they are no longer the highest. Where egg really comes into its own is with the credit card. It's only a couple of months now before I should get a nice little present from egg - 1% cashback on anything I've spent on the card this year. There's been no annual fee and I've not had to pay a penny in interest. How on earth do other cards manage to survive? One word of warning. Egg's accounts are like any other new accounts - high interest rates when they're launched, which will start to fall (egg even ...
