Advantages: Very deep, some moving poems Disadvantages: Can take a while to get into it
...have only starred 15 poems on the list in no way indicates that the others aren't worth reading, however I would reccomend these to a reader just starting with Thomas's poetry as I fell they have the strongest themes and ideas and are slightly easier to follow. One of the best things about DylanThomas however is that everyone has their own favourites!
Themes frequently explored in his poetry are childhood, love and relationships, the passage of time, death, and religion but often there are deeper themes and these only scratch the surface! I have found that it can take a good couple of hours before I have felt that I actually understand a poem to a reasonable extent but don't be put off, it's difficult to get bored with such rich use of language and clever sound and structure and people look at you in amazement if you say you actually...

...DylanThomas a name that conjurers up pictures in the mind , welshman through and through. His writings a slice of eat it and keep it Cake , always remembered to the last crumb.Like hot buttered toast in front of the fire
I remember well finding Under Milk Wood or did it find me all those years ago? Since then it has haunted and teased me, made in Wales, but a universal read, words spoken with truth, A Play , A poem,a book , No matter what form it takes, what kind of media you recieve this gift in , embrace it , kick off your shoes , loosen your cloths, lay by the fire or sit in the sun and let the sleepy tale of sleepy folk embrace and draw you too them.
At the end , you will have to take a deep breath and return to normality , but it will always be a part of you!!! forever.
