Advantages: a great read

...The Best Friends Guide to Pregnancy by Vikki Iovine
Being at the final stages of pregnancy now (oh my god cant believe I am going to have a baby in less than six weeks!) I finally managed to get through to the end of this totally brilliant and amusing book.
At the first stage of pregnancy I was trying to read every bit of literature I could get my hands on and finding out I was pregnant a lot of my Christmas presents ended up being pregnancy and child related, thanks friends and family just what I need! But one of my best friends bought me this particular book, which I am totally appreciative of as I found it laugh out loud funny and full of totally useful information for throughout my pregnancy and beyond.
This book is not that large and coming in at nearly 300 pages I found it easy and enjoyable to read through...

Review of My Best Friend's Girl - Dorothy Koomson by
kirkytracy
Advantages: Emotional, well written, page turner
Disadvantages: Can't keep the standard up to the end
...I actually won this book at work and although the title looked familiar I had no idea if it was any good or what it would be about. I settled down to read and enjoyed it from the very first page.

Review of Best Friends - Jacqueline Wilson by
EatGruel
Advantages: children can relate to the characters' situations.
Disadvantages: may not appeal to all age groups between 9-13
...I was given this book as a birthday present when I turned nine, it was from a friend who new me well- she knew how much I adored Jacqueline's books!
STORY LINE
I read this book, and my first thought on it was, 'a very good book, but will I really want to read this again and be able to enjoy it in say, 2 years time?'. Well, here I am, two years ahead, and I still reread Best Friends, but have found that, no, I do not enjoy it as much as I did before, partly I think, because of the story line. Gemma&Alice have been best friends ever since they were born in the same hospital, on the same day, but from different mother's. They are like chalk and cheese, because Gemma is gutsy and outgoing, whilst timid Alice is gentle, quiet and very girlie. When Gemma find's out Alice's big big secret, she concocts a plan with Alice to run away...
