Advantages: Dries clothes.
Disadvantages: Can't sing. Can't dance.

...I grew up with an Electra 426. As a child of less than six months, I watched my mother batter my nappies between two stones at the burn’s edge. Then, on my hands and knees (‘cos this was before I could walk), I had to carry a load of sodden nappies to the wash-house, where my mother would feed them through the mangle as I cranked the handle. Then I’d sink back, exhausted, while my mother hopefully loaded them into our Electra 426 Tumble Drier. I say hopefully, because in those days, we didn’t have electricity. But my mother was an optimist. We’d wait a minute or two, while nothing happened. Then I’d get back on my hands and knees, while my mother unloaded the nappies from the idle Electra onto my back, and I’d crawl towards the washing line. Okay, I know that won’t wash. Advantages: Good value for money, and does everything I need it to.
Disadvantages: Noise level louder than some of the more expensive dryers.

...*My experience with different brands* I tend to be quite loyal to brand names I have learned to trust, but would change if I found a good enough reason. At about seven years old our Electra tumble dryer started making some very strange noises, so I was expecting to have to buy another one in the near future. It hadn’t needed any repairs in that time despite being used an average of one or twice a day, and because we weren’t expecting the premiums to be cost effective, we had never taken any maintenance insurance on it. Since leaving my parents home 30 years ago, the majority of my kitchen appliances have been the Electra brand. ...I have been using my Candy CM1 126 washing machine since Christmas (2005), and it has certainly proved that my old Electra model was well past its best, as my washing is so much better with the Candy ! The washing machine cost only £189.99 at Co-Op, and I see that the recommended price is £239. But it is still worth that. It may sound very Stepford-wives to rave about a washing machine, but for those people who have mountains of family washing every week, with so many variants of colour, material and specialist demands ( by the garment itself and also the wearer), then this washing machine is a godsend. The appliance is white, with a metal insignia of "Candy" near the control knob, which is positioned on the right hand side.
