Have used Philips shavers for 25 years. Decided to try this one. Had it for 3 weeks and used several times. Although it is neat and impressive and 50% extra blades and the final result was a nice clean shave, I hated using it because it would constantly pull my hairs out! I paid about £100 for this, so was expecting big things, given that my remington twin foil was only £40 but quite old and in need of replacement. My initial reaction was that of feeling you don't get what you pay for here. Having compared many shavers, a bulk of the money is going on the Li-Ion battery. ...these: SPEED. In this regard, the razor doesn't disappoint, unless you do what it says in the book and dry shave. This caused much irritation, and shaving rash (I hadn't had that since my days of first wet shaving with cheap razors!) Just 3 words: Don't buy it. Most expensive clipper ever, and the most useless one too. ...it is that you end up feeling like a complete conned moron: the fanciest trimmer in the galaxy, the most expensive one, and it doesn't do what it's supposed to. Tried the beard trimmer, the shaver, the stubble thingy. None of them works as it should, and according to what I have seen on other reviews, it's the general experience. ...and bikini area regularly, as Rio Scanning Laser has failed completely. I ticked all necessary conditions required to be able to use it (I have dark hair etc.) but still, after numerous attempts, I never saw even one hair fall out. Disadvantages: can hurt, & tweezers can go blunt after awhile.

...go ahead give the braun a go, it may or may not achieve the results that you are looking for. it has some what worked for me. but over all its a good thing to have in your cupboard. also mains and recahargeable would be nice to have. ... Read review
