Worst shaver and beard trimmer ever
Review of Braun 2865 Cruzer 3 by
du_dua
Advantages: Nice charger, small, feels nice in your hands
Disadvantages: It does not work
Just 3 words: Don't buy it.
Most expensive clipper ever, and the most useless one too. I had been clipping my beard with a standard hair clipper, which went AWOL, so I decided to invest on one of these fancy beard trimmers to make it easier (beard trimming with my old hair clipper: 5 min.), plus it promises loads of features to create your own styles, blahblahblah.
Well, the machine looks nice (horrible and awkward packaging though), has a nice ... ...it is that you end up feeling like a complete conned moron: the fanciest trimmer in the galaxy, the most expensive one, and it doesn't do what it's supposed to. Tried the beard trimmer, the shaver, the stubble thingy. None of them works as it should, and according to what I have seen on other reviews, it's the general experience.
My advice: do not make the same mistake and do not buy it. ...

Cannot compete with a standard shaving razor
Review of Rio Scanning Laser by
zygma_amz
Advantages: None
Disadvantages: The whole product is one great failure
...and bikini area regularly, as Rio Scanning Laser has failed completely.
I ticked all necessary conditions required to be able to use it (I have dark hair etc.) but still, after numerous attempts, I never saw even one hair fall out. I used it a few times on my armpits and legs, it took me hours each time and my arm was aching from keeping it up for more than an hour, so I was really furious not to see any results.
For this money and effort that ...

Stylish Grooming
Review of Remington PG 200 N by
donf18
Advantages: Decent price and very professional feel
Disadvantages: Would be better if water cleanable
This all purpose beard hair and nasal trimmer comes in at around £24.99, but as per usual there are always better deals to be had so shopping around might get you it for the cheapest I have seen £19.99. Having a beard means that shaving is simply a matter of tidying up with the odd little tinkle of the razor here and there.
The main problem I had was keeping it all looking neat and trim. This is very painstaking when done with a comb and scissors ... ...specific purpose, hence this review.
The kit comprises of 1. Main charger and stand
2. Three interchangeable heads
3. Two cutting guides
4. One main rechargeable unit
The main charger simply plugs into the mains to facilitate the charging of the main unit, which is about 5 inches in length. It's tubular in shape with the charging pins secreted in the bottom and recessed slightly for safety. The top of the unit has the main motor and associated ...

Very Close to a Very Close shave
Review of Philips HS 8040 COOL SKIN by
coppinpr
Advantages: best electric shave around, great for sensitive skin
Disadvantages: Not for casual use, slight ongoing cost
...real close shave) and a philips electric razor(when i'm pushed for time and just need to look reasonably smart.
The old style Philips 'phileshave' system was easilly the closest electric shave around but still a long way from a wet shave. After over 30 years with a moustache and short beard i recently decided to go clean shaven again which meant more and more involved wet shaves and more 'top up' electric shaves. My old philips shaver was clearly ... ...my upper lip.
The Philips 'cool shave' system seemed ideal, advertising a really close electric shave and a sensitive feel thanks to a built in moisturising cream dispenser,so I bought one.
I'm pleased I did.
Philips always did have the best shaving system (thanks to there rotary tripple floating head design, a design ALL the other shaver makers would love to copy if they could get round the Philips patents and copyrights) and this latest offering ...
