Ready or not, here comes the Dual Effect
Review of Crest Spinbrush DUAL Effect by ElapsedSpiral

Advantages: Leaves mouth feeling very clean, power doesn't greatly reduce over time
Disadvantages: A little too powerful at first, ugly colour, impractical design

...year when I saw the Crest Spin Brush Dual Effect on offer in Boots and decided I should give it a go. Whilst not my favourite brush, it has certainly been memorable using it so far. To Begin: This is a small step up from the average electric brush for two reasons. Two buttons control the motion of the brush. The main control, a large well shaped button almost the size of a thumb pad is pushed up easily for continuous use, and down to stop. The ...
...that rather shocking start, the Crest Dual Effect electric toothbrush settled down from its manic cleaning to a speed quite as thorough, minus the toothache, and shows little sign of needing new batteries for a good few months to come. As I brush my teeth currently three or more times a day, it will soon require a change of head, which is quite commendable too. Although the Dual Effect is a nice idea, and effective to an extent, in my experience ... Read review

Crest Spinbrush: It's hot. Literally.
Review of Crest Spinbrush by derykl

Advantages: Great value for money
Disadvantages: Switch is stiff. Poor quality electronics, if not plain dangerous

Be careful. You get what you pay for. They're a great idea and let's face it they're great value, it cost me about £3 (from Bodycare) which is amazing considering it has an interchangable head and comes with decent alkaline batteries. It costs £1-2 for a manual toothbrush so it's a bargain, if only to take the batteries out of it. It works just fine when you get it, in fact I wondered what the point of those £40+ electric brushes was as this gives ...
...stiff, I had to use my fingernail to turn it on. But with cheap prices come cheap manufacturing. It seemed to hammer the batteries (they'd last a couple of weeks max), so on the second replacement I replaced them with fully charged standard NiMh rechargables and yet it was still nearly dead, which I found a bit odd. I figured out why: the bottom end was literally MELTING. I'm serious, the base was liquidy molten plastic and quickly deforming. Yes ... Read review

The Cheapest Thrill In My Mouth, Ever
Review of Crest Spinbrush PRO Couleur by markd_uk

Advantages: Very Clean Teeth. And Fresh Breath.
Disadvantages: A bit big between my lips and gums.

...the more expensive electric toothbrushes, Crest haven't tried to make this item ergonomic or sexy in any way; instead, it simply sits on the side of your basin waiting for its next use, looking somewhat butch and capable of doing its job. I suspect a Sonic brush might whimper at the sight of it, afraid that it was about to take a beating from its rather council-estate looking sibling. The head units can be replaced at a cost of between £1.99 and ...
...months or when the bristles have softened too much and, as toothbrushes go, this one does the job as satisfying as any other I've tried, without breaking the bank. It's affordable, comfortable (once you get used to it) and effective. It doesn't pretend to be something it's not and is designed well enough that the battery compartment, which includes two AA batteries, is unlikely to leak and electrocute you after a few months of usage. If you're looking ... Read review

Revitalise your smile
Review of Crest SPIN BRU by danielalong

Advantages: Great little battery operated toothbrush
Disadvantages: Hurts a bit when first used

...toothpaste and not the Crest revitalise toothpaste as recommended on the instructions. I like it so much and have used it so regularly that I will soon be buying another one. i figure that at the price it's going to be cheaper to buy a whole new brush complete with the included batteries rather than buying a new head (which can be purchased from chemists) and batteries. Thanks for reading. Daniela xx ... Read review

Top end toothbrush all the way
Review of Braun ORAL-B PC 8500 D 18.565 by theenglishviet

Advantages: Included travel case, battery lasts for 2 weeks, brushes teeth.
Disadvantages: Pricey at full value (but buy it on offer at half price)

...for my 5 year old Braun electric toothbrush. I only had to buy a replacement because it wasn't holding its charge anymore. I'd ran the product to the end of its life it seems. it hadn't let me down so I didn't see any harm going with another Braun. After all, all dentists seem to swear by the Braun brand when it comes to electric toothbrushes. This one I chose in particular because I saw it in the Tescos at £35, half the original selling price. ...
...The difference between this and the 8000 series I could see was that the 8500 had a 30 second interrupt mode (to tell you that you've been brushing one area for long enough) and that it also came with a travel pack. I seem to travel a lot, and this was only £5 more expensive than the 8000 model. Even though a travel pack comes with it, the charge isn't very portable. Its only a carry case to put the tooth brush in (and two heads). Charging doesn't ... Read review
