Advantages: Looks, oven versatility, oven temperature speed, oven visibility Disadvantages: Very poor heat on hobs, useless timer,
Having previously used a good quality touch control halogen hob and separate oven (Baumatic) we were looking forward to our nice new high tec super dooper cooker.
First impressions were excellent - a sexy and cool looking cooker - geat for showing off and the controls were easy to use and had tons of features.
So off we went to use it.....
The ovens - especially the fan oven is easy to use, very versatile and ... ...convection top oven we have only used once - we mainly use the grill, whioch again is extremely efficient in getting to temperature and has an excellent heat spread - one of my bugbears.
The controls - Lot's of options, child locks, delay timers etc and all the usual you would expect with touch control
The timer - WHAT A PAIN. it has two options - up or down. It slowly churns in ten second intervals until it get's to 3mins 50 ... more
Having previously used a good quality touch control halogen hob and separate oven (Baumatic) we were looking forward to our nice new high tec super dooper cooker.
First impressions were excellent - a sexy and cool looking cooker - geat for showing off and the controls were easy to use and had tons of features.
So off we went to use it..... The ovens - especially the fan oven is easy to use, very versatile and get's to optimum temperature (200c) within 7-8 minutes. The convection top oven we have only used once - we mainly use the grill, whioch again is extremely efficient in getting to temperature and has an excellent heat spread - one of my bugbears.
The controls - Lot's of options, child locks, delay timers etc and all the usual you would expect with touch control The timer - WHAT A PAIN. it has two options - up or down. It slowly churns in ten second intervals until it get's to 3mins 50 then it races (and I mean races!) in 1 min increments - then very slowly back to the time you need. All it needs is a simple hours, muinutes, seconds allowing simple setting - not taking over a miunute to set the timer!
The hobs - a waste of my time and energy. Take one pan of cold water (and remember in winter is is even colder), add fresh cut vegetables, pasta or whatever, turn on the alleged fast heat zone area.........and wait 20 to 30 minutes ( at least) to eventually see the few bubbles that will eventually appear. Try the same with pre-boiled water straight from the kettle and still bubbling. With Pasta, the pasta was actually cooked and the water was still not back to the boil.
I have tried this with cheap thin pans through the range to what we normally use - Circulon - and there is little difference
Only physical problem was the fan bearing went after 6 months. It was replaced the following week no problem. Pro's:
Looks great Easy to use controls Great flexibility with the two ovens 2The grill is great with a very fast heat-up rate and good spread (reduced cool spots) Easy clean
Con's: The hob is nowhere near as efficient as it could be - Takes over 20 minutes to bring cold water to the boil The timer is awkward as hell to use Not woirth the money they are asking
After using this for 6 months I would give my eye teeth to get rid. So much so that we are looking to miodify our brand new kitchen at a cost of at least £600 to replace this with a separate hob that cooks with reasonable speed.
If you periodically like to attempt cooking using a hob - do not buy this.
Advantages: Fully Featured Disadvantages: Not Cheap
...had the cooker changed by Electrolux in only 3 days.
First impressions was that the cooker was much slower to heat up than I had been used to, but that is typical for electric cookers.
Five months later, I amused to the heating and cooking at a more gentle pace and the results are better than with gas. The obvious statement is that it is much cleaner. Especially with a ceramic hob, this is a main advantage.
The controls are much easier to use ... ...is possible to turn on the hob control by leaning on the cooker, this is not unsafe as it turns itself off again after 5 seconds. Timers on all 4 hobs - great.
One niggle is the grill pan; it has a protruding sharp edge which if placed on surfaces can scratch them.
Great cooker and can be bought at a lower price than the £900 Comet sell for. ...

Advantages: Very Efficient Easy to Use Easy to follw Instructions Disadvantages: Grill at Top
My old cooker gave up the ghost after 12 years. I needed a bulit in cooker that was within the same specifiactions and dimensions.
I searched on the web and the electorlux matched the specifications price and dimensions.
I have had this cooker for 6 moonths and have to say it is fantastic, very efficient , very easy to use.
The only real disadvantage is that im only 5 ft tall and so the grill can be difficult to use as it is at the top. However ...

Advantages: clean lines good allround vision in both ovens Disadvantages: beeps everytime you leave anything on the hotplate
this cooker looks good but has some niggles. It turns itself off too easily, i have been known to lean against it witch turns it off although the buttons are on the top, and the touch control is quite fiddly as sometimes it is hard to change the settings and it can take a long time to choose the wanted temperature.
The oven capacity is large with good visibility and the casing looks very neat, the glass front is a lovely feature to look it to but ... ...the gap in the door, this doesnt help with keeping it clean.
It fits into the kitchen well and has a nice stainless steel finish, we did however have some problems with this when we first brought it as the steel appeared to look marked but we later discovered that this is nothing to do with the manufacturers.
I do like this oven and love the spped in which it cooks things and the space in which it has to fit everything in, but i am continually ...
