Freezers are hardly an exciting topic of conversation are they? We don't spend long hot summers sat around the table discussing the ins and outs of the freezing power of our latest purchase. I'm no different but became a bit of an appliance bore when deciding on which new freezer I should buy to slot into our garage. I did consider a cabinet freezer but even the smallest was far too tall and wide so after careful consideration and a tape measure ... ...oh boy is it GUD. Bloody expensive as well, I was relieved of £245 - £225 for the freezer and £20 for delivery.
The Bosch only just fitted my size criteria. Height wasn't a problem at 82cm and the width was ok at 60cm but the depth was really a tight squeeze. I had 57cm of room and the Bosch is 55cm deep.

Freezers are hardly an exciting topic of conversation are they? We don't spend long hot summers sat around the table discussing the ins and outs of the freezing power of our latest purchase. I'm no different but became a bit of an appliance bore when deciding on which new freezer I should buy to slot into our garage. I did consider a cabinet freezer but even the smallest was far too tall and wide so after careful consideration and a tape measure in hand I bought the Bosch GUD 15A40 and boy oh boy is it GUD. Bloody expensive as well, I was relieved of £245 - £225 for the freezer and £20 for delivery.

We use our outside freezer to store meats after visiting farmers markets so it does go for long periods being empty and therefore we switch it off to save on electricity. As soon as it is plugged back in, restocked and switched on it has a fast freeze option so that food doesn't go off. This takes about 2 hours to really get into gear and is great as we don't have to leave it running 24/7. The interior light is also really bright so no danger of going all the way to the freezer and pulling the wrong thing out in the dark.
There are 3 main draws, all of which are very deep and easy to move around. In terms of litres of space the Bosch can hold 93 litres. The draws come out so we can take them into the house to fill and then take them back out to the garage rather than crouching down filling it from plastic bags. A really saver on back pain I can tell you.
Shocked by the price but pleased as punch with the performance.
