Electrolux Premier Electric Kettle

GENERAL. We bought this kettle some 2 months ago, and have found it to be the very best kettle we have ever used. It is a magnificent, sturdy , well designed, and ultra-safe kettle that is deserving of the highest praise.

GENERAL. We bought this kettle some 2 months ago, and have found it to be the very best kettle we have ever used. It is a magnificent, sturdy , well designed, and ultra-safe kettle that is deserving of the highest praise.

APPEARANCE. The dome shape of the body of the kettle has a very modern styling. It is a cordless kettle, and the extendable cord is located in the black base plate. The handle is also of very heavy black plastic, well ribbed for grip. There is a small central lid, and a generous sized pouring spout. The most striking feature, however, is the body of the kettle which is made from stainless steel, with a mirror-like finish.

SAFETY FEATURES. The base plate fixes itself to the worktop using 4 small rubber pads, so securely that it has to be levered off if you want to move it! The cord within the base, can be extended any length from about 6 inches to its full length, and is securely gripped at whatever extension is required.
The handle is extremely robust, with heavy ribbing on the underside to give an excellent grip when moving or pouring. The handle NEVER gets more than slightly warm to the touch. Steam never condenses on the handle.
The large spout pours easily and smoothly, with no "glugging", or dribbling down the side of the spout, and the rate of flow can be controlled very easily.
There is an excellent inbuilt level gauge immedialely under the lid, which marks the maximum fill. At this level, a full 3.5 pints can be boiled without any fear of liquid being ejected from the spout before the kettle shuts itself off when boiling.
The boil cut-off works within a few seconds of a full boil being reached. If the kettle is removed from the base plate before the automatic cut-off acts, the lifting of the kettle immediately turns the control switch to "Off", thereby making it impossible to replace the kettle onto the base plate with the heating switch in the "on" position.

PERFORMANCE. The 2.5 kilowatt heater means that a rapid heating of the contents is achieved. The heater element is cunningly incorporated in the base plate of the kettle - hence it only has to be covered with about one cupful of water to provide the minimum of energy consumption to heat the water you really need. Steam does NOT escape from the lid onto your hands.The kettle is, however, quite noisy during all the heating cycle, and when using for the first few times, it is easy to be misled into thinking that the kettle is coming up to the boil!

PRICE. I found it in Comet at £15.99 - I think it's a great buy at this price!!
