I bought this vacuum to tackle my dog's inveterate moulting and is my first pet hair-specific appliance; previous cleaners had failed in this respect. At around the £70 that I paid, it seemed like a bargain. My first impressions were not good as it was self-assembly. However, such fears were allayed by the relative ease of construction due to a very clear exploded diagram in the useful accompanying A4 instruction booklet. A product that has annoyed me since I bought it two years ago. The hose pushes into the base of the cleaner but will not stay there. All the time it is in use you have to stop and push the hose back into its socket. Who ever designed this part of the cleaner should be shot. The rest of it works well the bagless design means you can see when it is filling up and when it has good suction as the dust will be spinning around inside it. If the dust is not spinning it is not picking up any dirt. The filter needs to be cleaned every now and again or it will be blocked and no suction is the result. I ... more

In my quest for a sensibly priced vacuum cleaner which will actually work and not fall to bits, I bought an Electrolux Vitesse Pet Lover 1800W 2.5L Upright Vacuum Cleaner. Big mistake. I mean how useless can vacuum cleaners be? OK I am using it during decorating, so there's plenty dust and dirt about, but isn't that what a vac's for? This vacuum cleaner is a bagless machine with a HEPA filter cartridge - that's a High Efficiency Particle Air filter to those who aren't engineers.
