Advantages: Durable, looks sweet, easy to use Disadvantages: not as visible in the dark as expected.
I purchased one of these keyboards a while back as i love playing pc games. When i received the keyboard i saw it and my jaw dropped. This is by far the sexiest keyboard i have ever owned.
The keyboard comes with an extra little pad with 9 numbers on it and two mode buttons, so in total the pad can be used for 27 different buttons, these are all fully programmable with the saitek SST programming software. Not only can you assign any button to one of the numbers on the pad you can assign multiple buttons to one number, i found this very useful for counterstrike as i set up my favourite weapon group on a button so i can choose all of my weapons with one button press .
One problem with the number pad is the cable that connects from it to the keyboard is only 1meter long and i could not position the pad where i wanted to. Other than this ...
Advantages: Does not occupy a USB slot Disadvantages: None
I have just reviewed the Goldtouch Dual Connection Keyboard. If numerical data input is coupled with regular alphabetical text input, then this is a must, as the keyboard itself, does not have a stand-alone numerical keypad.
This keypad uses a USB cable, and thus is easily plug-and-playable. Also the added bonus is that it doesn't 'take-up' a USB socket, as you can then plug a USB device into the keypad.
There is also a neat little '00' key, so those of you who type big numerical figures with lots of zeroes don't have to type as much. Seems silly, but you'll be surprised how often you use it and how much you miss it should you ever go back to a conventional number keypad.
The keypad also has regular 'page navigation' keys (such as Home/Insert/Delete etc) as a dual function when it's number lock is disarmed.
It also works in ...
Advantages: Separated keys; very nice to type on, very nice to look at (doh!) Disadvantages: None really
I've just purchased the Apple Snow Leopard Mac Box Set from my local Apple authorised service provider, and decided to buy an Apple keyboard with it. The Apple keyboard is priced around £28.00 - and no matter what keyboard I try I can type the fastest with this keyboard due to the separated keys. Very quiet key stroke during operation and just very pleasant to use. The keyboard enclosure is made from aluminium and even without being too close to the keyboard you can smell the aluminium when you first open the product, but the smell soon wares off. Nothing bad or anything - just saying! I actually purchased the keyboard without the numeric keypad - but you can purchase one with or without the numeric keypad usually at the same price.
The keyboard's caps lock has an LED light on the top left corner to denote the obvious, and you have to ...
