My 3 year old son saw the advert for Elefun on television in the lead-up to Christmas (yes I am a bad mother who lets her kids watch T.V.). Elefun - See him blow, gently!
Review of Elefun by mum2boys82

Advantages: Great for hand-eye co-ordination
Disadvantages: Losing butterflies, noisy

...son saw the advert for Elefun on television in the lead-up to Christmas (yes I am a bad mother who lets her kids watch T.V.). All I heard for about 3 months was "mummy I want the elephant game". He did receive this game from Santa Clause and I think I was almost more excited about playing with it than he was! This is one of the first games that we could play as a family, and I wanted it to be great! When you open the box you find the elephant base ...
...sewn in the middle to make a butterfly shape),a long plastic trunk that attaches to the elephant, 30 butterflies which are red, yellow and green, and finally 4 hoops with handles that you need to thread the nets onto and clip shut, these are in 4 different colours, so be warned your kids could argue over who gets red or blue! This looked even simple enough for me to put together! The elephant base (blue in colour in case you were wondering) has ... Read review

You can Elefun off.
Review of Elefun by dhillcrest

Advantages: Not cruel to animals
Disadvantages: Poor fan makes it unplayable.

...130 words to go. Elefun stands out as being especially rubbish. King of rubbish in fact. It has taken 150 years but it is becoming obvious that the Victorians had the best ideas about childhood. Give 'em a paper bag and a hoop and a child will be happy for hours. When they get bored of that, (strangely, by the age of 6,) send them down a mine and let them play with shovels and eat coal. That is the way to a childhood full of joy. You're never going ...
...What is elefun? -------------------- Elefun is a trashy bit of plastic designed to entertain children for 0.2 seconds. Basically, there is an elephants head/body arrangement that acts as a base with a bit of tacky plastic sheet, forged into the shape of a tube, which sticks onto the spot where, on real elephants, a trunk would go. Contained within this base is a 'fan'. The idea is to put some 'butterflies', small nylon/papery winged affairs which ... Read review

Not so Elefunny after a short while...
Review of Elefun by welshwickedone

Advantages: Good Fun for younger children
Disadvantages: Noisy and messy.

...to the obsession they call Elefun the Elephant, a decision that I now regret. I bought Elefun from Argos for convenience, as I was able to have it delivered along with a few other items I need to order so I did not really have to pay extra for delivery. About Elefun. ------------------------- Elefun is a game aimed at children four years of age and over and is suitable for 2-4 players. It retails in the Argos Catalogue for £12.99 and requires ...
...the game is that when Elefun the Elephant blows through its trunk, it blows butterflies in the air. The children playing are to try to catch as many of the butterflies as they can from mid-air in the coloured nets provided. The child that catches the most butterflies wins. My Opinion. ----------------------- The Elefun game is a blue plastic Elephant that is in a sitting position. It stands about 8 inches tall on the floor and has a large battery ... Read review

Elefun needs to pack up its trunk!
Review of Elefun by Shortsharpshock

Advantages: Easy to assemble, your child will love it, base is indestructible
Disadvantages: Poor trunk design makes this a major irritant to parents.

Elefun claims to be "The Motorised Air-Puffing Butterfly Catching Game" and to be fair to the people at Hasbro, when you first purchase it this is the case. The rules of Elefun are simple, catch as many of the forty butterflies as possible using your net. The one with the most, wins the game. Setting up Elefun is straightforward. After inserting four gargantuan D size batteries into the base, the game is operated by a plastic elephant shaped body ...
...odd one up regularly! Elefun does have some educational value as I am able to teach my daughter to count and you can complicate the game by getting your child to try and catch only certain colours of butterfly. Extra credit must go to the manufacturer for giving easy access to the battery compartment with no need to drag out my mate Phillip the screwdriver. Battery life is also impressive considering the power hungry nature of the powerful, motorised ... Read review

...seen it available in lots of other stores too, e.g. Toys R Us, Gamleys, Allders (are they still going!!??). A definite good addition to any toy box. Oops, I should add the name of the game is actually Elefun that wasn't just me making up a daft title! ... Read review
