Last year I turned 30 and treated myself to a stay at Springs Health Farm and opted for a couple of extra treatments. One of these was a Japanese Silk Booster Facial which cost me a whopping £64 (yes really) using all Elemis products and when it was finished my skin felt really wonderful. The therapist then wrote me out a 'prescription' for the products she recommended for my skin. If I'd bought them all they would have come to a incredible £168 and there was no way I was spending that sort of money so I thought I'd treat myself to one product only. I decided on the S.O.S Emergency Cream as this is a more specialised product and I thought that I could use my ordinary cleansers and moisturisers and use this as a top-up when needed. It cost me £26 which is very expensive but at the time I thought it must be worth it.
The product comes in a clear plastic pump bottle with a clear lid and a silver band across the bottom. When you use it the bottom of the bottle moves up so the product is always at the top of the bottle and you can easily see how much is left. On the front it says in green writing: "Elemis Aromapure. S.O.S EMERGENCY CREAM. Eternal Synergy. 30ml 1.06 fl.oz". On the back it says: "Taking the Chi-energy of the plan, this time honoured, ancient remedy of Absolutes and vital extracts of Meadowsweet, Patchouli, Willow and Lavendar, is a soothing restorative for sensitive, high-colour and irritated skin conditions. DIRECTIONS Apply liberally to irritated areas on the face, neck and decollete, until the skin hs restored its natural balance. When you press the pump out comes a creamy coloured gel-like cream with an incredibly strong smell of lavendar. I like lavendar but this is really really strong. It has quite a light consistency and doesn't feel sticky when applied. You only really need a small amount to put on your face. I would suggest using this at night as the smell is really off-putting and you wouldn't be able to wear perfume as well as it would clash.
Now, I suffer with some redness in my cheeks and some spots so I thought this product would be very good for me but I've been using it intermittently for a few months now and I can honestly say that I've never noticed any difference at all. I keep trying hoping to find that the redness has lessened or the spots look less red or inflamed but nothing. I wish I'd spent the money on one of the other products I'd been recommended such as a face scrub or mask instead.
If you are interested in trying this product there are Elemis concessions in some of the larger department stores and Elemis products are also available from the website www.elemis.com. If you get the chance to have an Elemis facial though, I would definitely recommend that, it was absolute bliss.
Advantages: It has so many different uses it's really handy for everyone! Disadvantages: It has a very strong smell.

I have used Elemis on and off for about 3 years after being treated to a fab facial as a birthday present, thanks a lot Mum!. I am one of those people who the advertisers must love, because I am seduced into buying the latest, new improved, better than ever cream/lotion/cleanser etc, hence I have never been loyal to any particular brand. But not any more, I have finally found a facial moisturiser that calms and settles my spot prone skin.

...use a big range of Elemis skin care products and have found them to be brilliant. My skin is smoother and clearer than it ever has been. I have been using Elemis for nearly two years and just love it. However, the S.O.S. cream is one of the few products from their range that I feel does not live up to what it says.
The product claims to soothe and balance sensitive skin, it is to be applied to areas of high colour and to irritated parts of the face ... ...it was quite expensive. Elemis S.O.S. made no difference what so ever to my skin apart from making it feel quite sticky as it takes a long time to obsorb. Sometimes when I apply it before going to bed I would wake up in the morning and it would still be sitting sticky on my skin. Just in case you are thinking I must be applying far too much of it I'm not!!(Had to get that cleared up!!)

Elemis S.O.S. cream, what do I think, well brilliant! It certainly works for me anyway. I use it when my skin has gone blochy and when I get spots, I use it once a day or twice when my skin is really bad. This is a product which requires a little dedication, using it every now and then doesn't really seem to work, I'll use it for a week every day before I put my makeup on or just before bed.
I use an elemis cleansers and toner as well as their mosturisers, ... ...If you have SENSETIVE SKIN elemis is a must! I am one of those people who has tried everything but my skin reacted to them all until elemis, I'm not sure if it is just because the best of things in their products or because they don't really use mineral oils and nasty harsh things like that but believe me when I say the whole range is brilliant!

Elemis SOS is must in any woman's bathroom. It lasts a long time as you only need a small amount. You can use it as a daily moisturiser however I use it for emergencies, like the name suggests. There are times when my skin is just not looking at its best, maybe it's a bit dehydrated or it's just not as good as normal, change of wheather, central heating or air conditioning can damage the normal Ph of your skin. When I feel ... ...few days or as long as needed (sometimes just one application is enough to return my skin to its normal appearance!) and the balance is restored.
It smells at lavander, when you put it on, you get all the benefits of lavader oil, it relaxes and soothes and it makes you feel great.
The cream is of a very thick consistency and not too easily absorbed therefore to apply it you have to pump a small amount on your fingers or hand and rub it for a few ...
