Why I brought this product
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I had a facial at an Elemis Spa, it was lovely, the best facial I've ever had. This is why I have been such a religious user of Elemis products. After the facial, the therapist sat down with me and gave me a list of products she had used on me, and recommended products. As the products were quite expensive and I didn't already use a cleanser and toner I thought I would start with them, so I purchased both the suitable cleanser and toner from the salon - Soothing Camomile Cleanser and Soothing Apricot Toner.
What the product looks like
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Elemis Soothing Apricot Toner comes in a white box with red writing - the classic Elemis box. The bottle of toner is 200ml/6.8 fl.oz and comes in a see through white top spray bottle and you can see the colour of the toner - orange. It is not a bright, ghastly artifical looking orange, it is a gentle, pale looking orange due to the elements of apricot in the product. In the box you also get a fee 3ml tube of Daily Redness Relief Skin Solutions Ceam. The box looks neat, stylish and modern and that of a professional product. You also get an instuction leaflet, which comes in several different languages, the main one being English. The spray function is really useful, it sprays just the right amount and doesn't leak, it saves the hassle of having to be fiddling round with lids all the time.

What the product does
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"This gentle treatment toner effectively tones the skin, maintains the pH level and preserves natural oils without the use of alcohol or harsh detergents. Extracts of Apricot, Quillaja Wood and Sweet Betty Flower soothe and harmonise the skin, leaving a fresh and radiant complexion".
Sweet Betty Flower replaces the harsh alcohol many toners contain, it is a natural cleansing and foaming agent, which is gentle and calming to the skin.
This alcohol-free toner gentle enough that it can also be applied to cotton pads for a soothing eye treatment, rather than the traditional known cucumber or cold spoons, much more practical!
A toner should be used after using a cleanser on the face, both are pretty pointless without each other. The toner removes any excess cleanser and grime that has been left on the face and rebalances the pH levels in your skin.
Smell & Texture
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The product is a pale orange liquid, due to its contents of apricot, it smells pleasant, it has a lovely fresh fruity apricot smell to it. You cannot smell any harsh chemicals or alcohol in it.

Effects on your skin
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Your skin doesn't feel dry or tight, it feel refreshed, moisturised, soft smoothe and looks radiant. It is really refreshing on lovely on your skin. It doesn't burn or irritate your skin due to its gentle ingredients.
The toner removes any excess cleanser and grime from your skin ensuring your skin is throughly clean and rebalances the pH levels.
The active bases of plant glycerine and de-ionised water moisturise, soften and rehydrate your skin as well as aiding the penetration of your moisturiser or night cream.
Due to the products gentle ingredients it calms your skin and reduce irritations and any redness. It is perfect my sensitive skin, especially as I suffer from ecezma. It doesn't irritate it and it really soothes my skin. I love this product and wouldn't use any other toner.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Directions for use
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mist lightly over the face or spray onto a damp or dry cotton wool pad and gently wipe over the face after cleansing with Soothing Chamomile Cleanser. Blot dry with a tissue. Then moisturise.
This alcohol-free toner is so gentle, it may also be applied to cotton pads for a soothing eye treatment - this is great, it doesn't sting your eyes, I find it useful as I really suffer from puffy eyes.
