One thing I use most days and always seem to running out of lately in a foundation. Usually I buy whatever is on offer from a brand I trust in places like Boots however the other day I was on the e.l.f (eyeslipsface) website as I had received an email from the company offering me 50% off and postage and packaging is only ever £3.50 no matter how many items you order so I had a right spending spree!
For anyone who is not aware of e.l.f.com where have you been? Particularly you ladies? It is an online cosmetic company that combines not only a whole array of make up you could possibly want and/or need but make up related items such as brushes and bags too. The majority of make up (like this item is) is £1.50 though of course I paid 50% less than that making it a mere 75p and you get offers either by making your first order and them keeping your details to send you offers to or you can sign up anyway and the offers really do come in thick and fast with half price offers, free gifts being given etc!
I didn't realise until recently that they did any type of foundation and knowing I was running out I opted to order one of these sticks of the stuff.
In seven colours, from rather light to rather dark I opted for the ivory option as I am really, really pale and this of course I ordered from the website and as usual the colour I received was remarkably like the colour swatch shown on the site and I do appreciate that colours really do come as shown as on the site which makes ordering with confidence easy!
The Packaging:
As usual the packaging from the range of products on e.l.f is practical to use, simple in design but appears a little cheap to me. The stick is within a white round shaped plastic bottom case to which on that and in silver writing we are told that it is e.l.f all over cover stick and then over that you get a secure pull on/off see-through plastic lid and to use the product you simply turn the base up/down. On the base of the product we are told again it is an e.lf product and thats it really. No size is stated however according to the website this weighs 4g and you do get plenty of product!
To Use It:
Well you can either apply this straight to the face, blend with a foundation brush...use it however you want to really!
I find this an ok but not heavy duty cover stick and how to use it isn't really all that clear. I mean is it a foundation or is a concealer?....well I'm not 100% sure to be honest.
Personally though I use this as an all over cover stick/foundation as suggested. It glides on easily, blends perfectly doesn't agitate my sensitive skin at all or sit in lines and wrinkles and is a really light none greasy product. It has no real fragrance to it, is easy to apply and gives a decent matt finish to my face.
However this is such a light cover stick that it fails to deliver to my needs really. It slides off any spots, doesn't even up skin tone and wears off within an hour flat when it comes to my face. It slides off oily areas and lets my nose and chin go shiny mega quickly and all in all I find this product to be rather disappointing. It doesn't give a heavy enough coverage for me and to be used as a concealer I find it unhelpful and difficult to apply directly to an area due to the size of it!
