I purchased the EyeTV for use with my Apple Mac laptops when the EyeTV 410 was first released via the Elgato website but you can buy it from online stores such as Apple.co.uk.
At the time the price was good but I think as technology has moved on there are a lot of other brands offering similar products but their quality, customer support and ability to upgrade is questionable, but over the years this product has stayed at the top end of the market with excellent customer support and regular software upgrades.
I bought the EyeTV because I wanted easy plug and play TV in an area where I didn't have easy access to an external TV aerial. The system is easy to use and simple to set up even for someone with basic technical know how.

Advantages: Looks, Slim, Video playback, clear screen, excellent audio quality Disadvantages: Video is too small for movies/TV Shows, Battery life is abysmal, easily scratched surface.
memory stick for that. However, for the occasional video, it is excellent.
Smooth playback with nary a stutter, plenty of colour and an easy to use interface are more than adequate for video shorts.
You can subscribe to Podcasts that contain video, such as The Happy Tree Friends, or 1up.com 1up show, amongst many hundreds of others. Or if you really want, you can download TV shows from software like Elgato EyeTV (It has an Export to iPod function built in for your recorded TV shows).
Movies and TV shows downloadable from iTunes are not yet available in Europe, though they are very popular in the US.
