During our early research into our new kitchen we not only looked at the normal high street showrooms, but also paid a visit to a local high-end bespoke supplier. Not that we intended to fork out the kind of money they ask for but they are a good place to get fresh, contemporary ideas regarding design and appliances. What we found, alongside the wide range of units, materials and features, were a selection of extractors from a single manufacturer. That manufacturer was Elica and all the extractors looked the business. The bonus being that they were broadly equivalent in price to the premium brand German models.
From the beginning we were drawn to a particular model called the Om (no, seriously). This is a spectacular design, a million miles from any other extractor and guaranteed to grab the attention in any kitchen. Big ...

Advantages: easy to fit, slim, no ducting Disadvantages: none
I have a range cooker and don't have room from a chimney extractor or an outside wall to extract fumes too. I needed a 90cm cooker hood and there are not many around. This one comes in stainless steel but you can have it in white or black and also for 60cm width.This extractor fan I found eventually fits the bill. It cost about £175, looks good in stainless steel, works superb, has the charcoal filters which can be changed, easy to fit and connect. It has a twin hood extractor which helps clear the steam quickly and 3 speeds with a really good light that shows off the cooker to a treat.I thought the 3 screws provided would not hold it to the wall but I was wrong and it sits proud on the wall.
