This review is the Elizabeth Arden Green Tea body lotion.
In my case this cream was part of a Christmas set I bought for myself on a trip to the Perfume Shop last year. The box was priced £10 so I thought it was not a huge price to pay for a quality present to myself. Apart from the body lotion I will be talking about my gift box also contained the following: 50 ml Green Tea Shower gel, 50 ml Green Tea Shampoo, 50 ml Green Tea Conditioner and a 50 ml Green Tea Eau de Toilette: BARGAIN DON'T YOU THINK?
I personally like Green Tea as a drinking product but found I also very much enjoyed beauty products which contain this ingredient and their perfume in the first place. I find Green Tea energizing and uplifting and very much refreshing during summer days or after a session at the gym. Green Tea is well known for being rich in anti-oxidants which fight free radicals thus delaying cell damage and premature ageing. Whilst a cup of green tea works from the inside and I can see the logic, I wonder whether a shower gel with this ingredient can actually work from the outside in the same way or if it is just a catch for us consumers? May be the proprtion of green tea in it is just so minimal that we don't really see any effects at all? Who knows...
THE PRODUCT *********** The body lotion is white in colour and very light in texture, possibly too light for my liking as especially when summer comes my skin is rather dry and I do need something a bit more nourishing. When you squeeze some of it, it does not smell that strongly but when you massage it on your skin you are left with a pleasant scent which I do have to admit is not bad. After possibly 30 minutes though the smell goes, it is not overpowering and you cannot definitely rely on it all day.
PACKAGING ********** This product I got is packed in a tube exactly like a handcream, it basically stands on its head and you twist the cap off. The cap is made of white transparent plastic and the body of the packaging is made instead of a slightly soft light greenish plastic which allows you to see the product through and know how much you are using of it and when you are soon to run out of it I suppose. All writing is in green and in the front you have the drawing of a leaf which I believe is meant to rapresent Green Tea. On top of course of course can easily read the brand Elizabeth Arden, so that you do remember who made it!
PRICE *********** Looking at boots.co.uk the 200 ml version is around £13.00. It is more expensive than an ordinary body lotion and I personally prefer to invest in a body butter from the Body Shop which costs me just more than £10 and smells yummy!
The range includes also the following: -Green Tea Shower Gel 200 ml -Green Tea Revitalize Body Rinse 150 ml -Green Tea Revitalize Body Serum 100 ml -Green Tea Revitalize Body Scrub 200 ml -Green Tea Revitalize Moisture Therapy 125 ml -Green Tea Revitalize Body Scrub 125 ml -Green Tea Eau de Toilette 50 ml and 100 ml -Green Tea Eau de Parfum 75 ml

HOW TO USE IT *********** Squeeze the product on your hand and massage on your skin until complete absorption. Repeat if necessary later in the day.
MY OPINION ********** The only reason why I got this it was because it was so cheap and was mostly interested in the fragrance, if I had the option I definitely would not buy this product by itself and would not recommend it to you guys either, I feel it is a total waste of money.
Advantages: Reasonable price, lovely clean smell Disadvantages: Needs to be reapplied a few times during the day
...Having sampled the not so many delights of greentea bags which provide a rather horrid taste - made slightly more acceptable if you dunk the tea bag in for no more than 0.01 of a second in the water, I was surprised to hear of ElizabethArden's new GreenTea range which includes the fragrance, bodylotion and shower gel. I requested a free sample via the website (http://www.freeguide.co.uk/cgi-bin/free/345) and was pleasantly surprised with the gorgeous subtle fragrance - which smells nothing like the cup of tea I have subjected myself too in the past in the name of health! The only slight downside to the fragrance is that it wears off fairly quickly so would need to be reapplied during the day, but the price is pretty reasonable for an ElizabethArden product. Great clean citrussy smell that would be fab during Summer. One to try...
