Advantages: Last ages on the skin but thankfully it has a nice scent lol Disadvantages: It is a more mature fragrance
...1989 (It was the first Elizabeth Arden fragrance , named after the first beauty spa opened and is the Arden signature perfume) it's a bit old fashioned to them. Unjust! I call you all to go out sniff and make it popular again!!!!
Best Prices I have Found:
25ml Eau De Toilette Spray £20.00 (Boots)
25ml Eau De Toilette Gift Set including 50 ml shower gel and 100ml body cream (on offer) £9. 95 (Superdrug) more
I originally purchased this perfume for my Mum bout five years ago. I bought it for her not knowing what else to buy her quite frankly as she has had and still has a massive collection of perfumes. I got fed up and as a last resort went in Tj Hughes and this was on offer. Buy one get another of something else for £15.00. I'd never smelt it she'd never heard of it and I took a sniff and thought hmm that's my Mum to a T!
The Packaging:
Red box, very classy with gold print telling you it's name, the manufacturer and it's size. It's plain and quite elegant in design. The bottle is square with an oval shaped lid over a red sprayer. Its very nice and simple. The perfume is a golden colour and of course you can see that through the plain glass.
The Fragrance Is Described As:
Red Rose, Violet and Jasmine, Lily of the valley, Orchid and accompanied by Honey.
To me its heavily scented floral though I think you'd be hard pushed to recognise the flowers as it's really well blended. It's expensive smelling, rich and and rather warm. Its a very distinctive smell and one that if you walk into a room and walk out you leave it behind you.
As I said earlier in my review this was originally bought for my Mum and since then she and anyone who knows her has bought her more. (She has 3 unopened boxes in a draw!). It's one she uses a lot for day time and night use and one she wouldn't be without.
I also use it but I prefer to use it at night cos if I go clubbing I notice the warmer I get the more you can smell it. Which is great at the end of the night with the club stinking and me still smelling as fresh as a daisy (though maybe not looking like one!). It's a long lasting on the skin fragrance and as it is quite strong so you really don't need very much at all. When I say its a long laster don't be confused with heavy. Even though its rich I don't believe it could be called a 'heavy' perfume.
Simply:
It's a lovely fragrance and much under valued and underrated in my opinion! I knew no one but me and my Mum that used it which meant we were unique which was a bonus! However when people do smell it you always get asked what it is and people do go out and purchase some!
If you know someone and don't know what to buy them this Christmas or for a special occasion I'd definitely recommend you get this one for them as there is nothing at all to dislike about it really.
I'd say its more of a 'mature' fragrance in the main unless a younger woman (like me)who likes strong florals.

Advantages: A fragrance for all occasions (well almost) Disadvantages: The name doesn't do it justice
...resist: a Gift pack of Elizabeth Arden Red Door Eau de Toilette (25ml) spray and a matching bottle of Perfume (5ml) for the combined price of just £12. The 2 boxes were packaged together to form a square (approx 4.5”x 4.5”) about an inch in depth, a really good size for putting into a paddy bag to send as a parcel if required, although in my case there was no need as the gift was for me. The cardboard packaging is a bold red in colour with gold writing ... ...fragrance.
So who was Elizabeth Arden and where was the first Red Door? The next paragraph is only for those of you who like a little trivia. I am told that Elizabeth Arden’s real name was Florence Nightingale Graham. She was born in 1884 and died in 1966. However by 1910 she had adopted the name Elizabeth Arden. “Arden” was taken from “Enoch Arden” who is immortalized in a poem by Alfred Tennyson, available on the net thanks to the Gutenberg project ...

Advantages: Attractive packaging, gorgeous smell, now really well priced, great staying power Disadvantages: the name's a bit naff?
...I have often noticed Elizabeth Arden's RED DOOR on the perfume counters in well known chemists and department stores, because the packaging is so striking, well, so red! It comes in a "door shaped" bottle with an arched red cap with the name "red door" etched into a gold trim. It looks most sophisticated...the box is similarly posh looking...then so was the price. A 50ml bottle would set you back about £35 and the 100ml bottle was a lot better value ... ...ONE DAY RECENTLY.....I was tuned into a shopping channel, where they were dropping the price of a 50ml bottle of RED DOOR along with a tube of skin cream..when the price got down as far as £18, I thought to myself "wow! I can afford this"...I reached for the phone. It was on it's way in 7 days.
I haven't told you anything about the smell yet, have I? and that's because at this stage ...I haven't a clue!!!!! I have so far been seduced by the packaging ...

...either this or Sunflowers by Elizabeth Arden and after testing it, I opted for this when one of the assistants commented on what lovely perfume I had on.
The Packaging
============
In the older bygone days of yesterday Red Door was always in a scarlet box with a picture of a red door on it. However this is a new packaging and although it looks good, it does not look as good as the old one did. That was very classy.
It is a square box with a transparent ... ...the centre with the words Elizabeth Arden and Red Door written in white.
The base of the box is scarlett red and apart from the bar code on the back there is nothing else on it.
Right first you lift the lid and inside the box everything is scarlet red and also the tray insert is red velvet. It contains 3 items.
The Products
===========
Now as I said before there are 3 products in this gift set so I will tell you all about them, one by one.

I Love this product its my 'signature' perfurme whenever I wear people always say I smell nice (which is nice!). The price has dropped over the years and you can pick up a bottle of Red Door eau de Toilette Spray 100ml from Superdrug for as little as £16.99 and if you are an ebay user cheaper still. ==Smell== Quote 'Sensuous blend of deep, rich florals features a captivating scent that fills the senses. A very feminine scent.' - Totally agree with ... ...an elegant bottle as per photograph. ==Sizes= Can be bought in either 25ml, 50ml or 100ml bottle ==Summary== Good value for money fragrance, goes well with the lotion (which is makes the skin feel very smooth). Advantages: Lovely sweet smell that lingers Disadvantages: dont put too much on, it can get a bit overpowering
...of it too, as an Elizabeth Arden perfume, I assumed that it would be ridiculously priced, but it was in my hubbies price range.
I must admit that I kept mine to wear on special occasions, but even then, I did tend to be a little heavy using it and although it lasted me quite a few months, I have none left now.
It's an unusual scent that lasts and people always used to ask what it was I had on when I did go out and commented on the lovely smell, ...

Advantages: very distinctive scent, very cheap to buy Disadvantages: some may find the scent overwhelming
to know Opium well to know this and I personally don't think that are that similar. Fendi's ingredients include amber, vanilla, musk and softwoods. It is a strong scent and not one you'll forget in a hurry.
As with many perfumes Fendi contains alcohol which helps the perfume to emit from your skin. If you are allergic to alcohol or can't use alcohol for other reasons, this is probably not the perfume for you.
Fendi comes in a yellow box with a black panel at the top which is not very inspired and the bottle is fairly plain with a black arched top. The bottle is very similar in shape to ElizabethArden's RedDoor although the top for RedDoor is somewhat unsurprisingly red!
Many people prefer to buy EaudeToilettesprays as these are easier to use and cheaper but not everyone is aware that buying the Eaude Parfum as opposed to ...
