During the month of August this year I had my stepson come to stay with me, he is 14 years old and great to look after, as he is so quiet, not like most fourteen year olds. Lol. Anyway as a thank you to me for having him he brought me a little present, which was really sweet of him.

This gift is a perfume by Elizabeth Arden, who I have heard of, but not the particular scent, which is called True Love. It is more of daytime scent than an evening wear. I have had to research on this product to see what sizes and prices it comes in. So now I will give you my honest opinion on True Love.

The particular one that I have is classed as the mini version as it is only 3.7 ml and costs around £7.00. The Packaging is a small white box that has a lift up lid. The writing is in Gold, which is very striking. It is actually an Eau De Toilette, which is not as strong as perfume. Once you lift the lid you can see a pink plastic surround with the dainty bottle fitted into it. The glass bottle is like a square shape with round sides. The centre of the bottle displays the name in a gold sticker with the name written in black. The lid is gold and has to rings interlocked on the top, which resembles two wedding rings. The lid is a screw on type and even though the hole in the centre is small, the scent comes out rather fast, so you have to be careful. I would assume it is for husbands or boyfriends to purchase for their other halves, maybe for Valentines Day or birthdays.

THE SCENT:

Well, it is a flowery type smell, very sweet and light. Something about it reminds me of talcum powder, I hope you know what I mean by that. It does not last long however, as I have found that if I put in on in the morning, by the afternoon it’s varnished. It would not be a scent that I would chose personally for myself, as it lacks staying power. I would only rate this as 5 out of ten.

It apparently comes in three other different sizes which are 30ml costing between £15 /£22, 50ml is between £29/£32, and the large size is 100ml priced between £38/£40. It can be purchased at most perfume outlets in major department stores and some chemists stock it. I would say that it is an average type scent and would appeal mostly to ladies who like the fresh flower scents.

Finally to sum this up I would have to say that I have smelt better and was a little disappointed, I did not think that it suited me very well, but as us ladies know what smells great on one person can smell dreadful on another. It would therefore be unfair to dismiss it until you have tried it.
