Onto the ground then from an away fan's perspective - I went once by using my club's coach travel, and once by car with two mates. Firstly, if you go by bus you will probably be dropped just opposite the ground. There is a McDonalds to your right hand side, which will most probably by packed full of Leeds fans - as will be the surronding street and also the space where you get into the ground - they are the nearest turnstiles to you and are the ones closest to the club shop. Due to the large number of Leeds fans simply standing around in this area, it can be quite an intimadating experience and I personally would not advise to wear your club colours although I saw quite a few people did and no trouble kicked off before the game.
There are burger vans scattered around the ground, which serve decent food at reasonably prices. Away fans are either given the South Stand behind the goal, or more likely, the triangular corner section just to the right of the South Stand. If that is where you are located, upon entry you will walk into a large area under the stand, food and drink is available and again at a reasonable price. There are also vending machines but these are quite expensive. There is also a small amount of seating in this section under the ground if you wish to sit and eat.
You can either be located in the upper or the lower of this section, and you should be hoping to get a ticket for the upper region - normally this has a best atmosphere going and has a much better view than the lower bit. The Leeds fans will create an almost deafaning roar upon ticket and its very intimadating but its absouloutly fantastic aswell - the feeling of you and around a 1,000 or so others in the corner against the 30,000 or so Leeds fans gives you a great sense of pride to be there supporting your team against the so called 'big boys'

Advantages: Very nice East Stand, Good Superstore, good links and access Disadvantages: Poor west stand, barely adequate services
From the outside, the stadium (in particular the New and improved East Stand) looks very futuristic indeed. You can clearly see where money has been spent. A new superstore which has been totally kitted out by shirt sponsors Nike is the main attraction outside the ground, right in front of the statue of the late, great captain of the Leeds United 1970s team Billy Bremner. The store is often packed to the brim prior to kick off, and the turnover made ... ...view of the stadium, looking at the East Stand and the new club superstore, you would have to try very hard not to be impressed.
On the other side of the stadium however is the old West Stand. Not exactly the most popular stand amongst Leeds fans, for many years now it has been talked about the re-construction of the stand. Structurally, it isn’t too old due to the extensive maintenance that has been carried out on it over the years. But it ...

Advantages: The Lurpack stand looks nice Disadvantages: The rest of the ground, the fact that it's called the Lurpack stand
Yesterday I was at Elland Rd for the second time as an away fan watching Leeds v Bolton.
The first time I went was a couple of seasons back when we were given the stand behind the goal. Unfortunately the crossbar was in the way so I couldn't see much. I thought that was bad enough until yesterday.
My ticket was for the yellow seats in the south east corner. It said "Row DD" so I assumed the rows would go A-Z then AA-ZZ. I was wrong. I was on the ... ...sandwich and we arrived at Elland Rd at 2:15.
First impressions were that they'd built one stand and couldn't be bothered finishing the rest off. The unfortunately named Lurpak stand (East) looked excellent but the rest looked out of place.
We didn't have time to wander round outside so we just passed the Billy Bremner statue and went in at entrance 13-unlucky for some, but not for us.
As you go in, you come to what can only be described as a ...

...as a 7 year old, Elland Road has been my favourite place on Earth. Without exception. When the news broke that Mr. Ridsdale, a man I respect as a true fan like myself, was considering a move away, I was surprised but I told myself, "Don't worry, the fans won't let it happen." To my utter shock and dismay, some of the fans I spoke to were not opposed to a move. My head span. To further increase my confusion, the offical website poll showed that two ... ...I desperately want to see us retain our heritage and stay at our rightful home. ...on the ticketing arrangements for Elland Road. The prices of matchday tickets have risen by £1 for all categories and all areas of stadium - which means that John Charles Stand and East Stand tickets are as much as £36 for Category A games, and Revie and South Stand tickets go up to £26 for Category A games.
Additionally, the club has established a student area of the stadium, where those holding NUS cards can buy season tickets at a reduced rate ... ...1991, I'm entirely biased about Elland Road, but I'm under no illusions about the ground. The West Stand (the most 'exclusive' part of the ground) has pretty appalling facilities, given the cost of tickets. The bars are rather spartan, paint is chipping off the bare brick walls and the toilets haven't been renovated at least since I started attending matches.
The Revie Stand and East Stand are improvements on this. For atmosphere I would strongly ...

Advantages: In the Leeds end no-one stops singing, brilliant atmosphere Disadvantages: Loss of Voice, Loss of Hearing
Bad times for Leeds United at the moment languishing in league one after 2 failed promotions and rapid decline from the premier league. They were in the champions league semi-final 7 years ago against Real Madrid but what happened? The club went into turmoil and hasn't recovered yet.
However what I love about Leeds is that the fans have not deserted them at all and if you go to EllandRoad your in for one hell of a day/night. The atmosphere is absolutley electric especially when the ground is full people actually lose their voices from singing and their hearing the roars of songs and cheering.
My friend who is a Liverpool fan went to EllandRoad with me once 34,000+ were in against Northampton and he said he has never experienced such noise and couldn't believe the mexican wave that went on for 10 minutes and the song of We are ...

Advantages: Exciting stuff Disadvantages: Worrying times
Villa dealt another crushing blow to Leeds' season, but it's getting pretty standard stuff for them - they just seem to have the voodoo sign over the EllandRoad club and to win every time they play them.
Good as Villa played, though, what has happened to Leeds? How can you go from winning in Lazio, drawing with Barcelona and Milan and beating Liverpool and Arsenal to losing as many games as they have, especially at home to some pretty naff opposition - Man City, West Ham, Ipswich - wher will it all end.
They seem to have sorted out their performances on the big stage (that was the problem last year), but they can't do the business against inferior opposition - are they becoming the Chelsea of Yorkshire - I hope not, but it certainly looks that way - it's going to be a long cold winter.
What price the double of European Cup ...

Leeds showed great resilience in their European Champions League game against AC Milan. The Italians travelled to EllandRoad as favourites after Leeds collapse against Barcelona a week earlier. Leeds managed to hold off the Milan attack and started to press the Milan goal. On a rainy night in Yorkshire few fans would believe that the Milan keeper would be the hero of the match. Late in the second half Lee Bowyer tried a speculative shot from 25 yards and in the wet conditions, the Milan keeper allowed the ball to bounce in into the goal after a calamitous fumble. Just goes to show that the champion?s league is not all about the best, sometimes it?s about the worst. ...
