    Cream, how yummy but so high in fat. I use cream on occasions for putting on my desserts and love the taste. Many years ago a company called Elmlea produced a substitute cream that was half the fat of real cream without a real difference in the taste. Over a year ago I first tried this and took home a tub to try. The tub I tried was the single variety although they do double and light. The cream only comes in 284-ml plastic tubs.     My family have not only recently become aware of the dangers of excess saturated fat in their diet. Sometime ago along with margarine spread on bread and toast for breakfast they switched to Elmlea single as a substitute for cream with fruit for desert (especially on Sundays). Today mum brought some around as a special treat to remind me of old times. It was the start of August the use by date is 07/October/2006.     Asked hubby to pick up a pot of cream the other day as I was making a chicken korma. After marinading the chicken and getting kitchen ship shape again, hubby walks in with..........Elmlea! "oh, for god sake!" i think. "I ask him for ONE thing and he cant even do that right!" Well, I used the "cream" and was completely astonished, and grovelllingly offered an apology to forsaid hubby.
