Elonex TB RUG - PIII-M 866 MHz - 8.4" TFT

Advantages: Small, sturdy and easy to use.
Disadvantages: Lack of drives and TV-Out

...This is a beauty! Bought this PC second handed as a replacement for my Thinkpad 240 (C300/192/12.0). This PC is based on the same concept, but is faster, has a larger screen (12.1'' in stead of 10.4'') - and has a few upgraded key features. As the TP 240 was able to hold a charge for ~6 hours when used for normal text writing, I was excited to see how long this baby would last. And as the battery was slightly used, I was amazed to learn that it lasts for more than 4 hours! Speedstepping and other features are of course the reason for this. The PC is nice to work with, the keyboard is a little smaller than that of a desktop PC, but it works great. It has - which the TP 240 didn't - an extra key, which enables me to use Danish keyboard setting (we have three more letters than e.g. English) - nice! As always with portable IBM PCs... Read review

...I have had my iBook for over 6 months now, and I have never regretted the purchase. I do all my work, internet surfing and play on the thing. Apple have just recently come up with a new ibook, which sports all of these amazing features: 500 Mhz g3 Processor - Roughly equal to a 750 PIII Tiny, ice-white rugged design 12.1" XGA screen CD/CDR/DVD or CDR and DVD combo drives available option wireless networking Mirroring to Monitor or TV Firewire port - edit your digital videos Built in Networking And All this for only 1200 pounds! I know that the screen is not that large, but believe me, it is the best quality, and helps to make the'book TINY. Unless you want the ultimate in speed (Then you should get the Powerbook G4) - whoever you are and whatever you do, this is the laptop for you.... Read review
