Advantages Advantages Superb design. Excellent facilities. Home of Arsenal FC.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Mediocre food (and that's being generous). Some games lack atmosphere. Expensive tickets.

INTRODUCTION Almost four years ago, Arsenal FC left their hallowed Highbury home of 93 years and moved across the road into a brand-spanking new, state of the art stadium at Ashburton Grove. In keeping with the modern trend for selling naming rights to sporting stadia, Arsenal did a deal with Emirates Airlines for a nice chunk of change, and as such the new ground will be called “The Emirates” for at least the next ten years. BACKGROUND The traditional and tight confines of Highbury, with its listed Art Deco East and West Stands and the proximity of the crowd to the pitch, was always going to ... more

Advantages Advantages The only true premier ground in the premiership.

Disadvantages Disadvantages You can still smell the scum at Tottenham

Saturday 22nd July saw over 50,000 Arsenal fans and a few fans of Ajax attending the opening of a new place in which to worship the best football the Premiership has to offer. The Emirates Stadium is a new 60,000 seater stadium that was built on time and within budget in the heart of London, Wembley take note, and whilst the name may be a corporate sell out if someone wants to stump up even a hundredth of the £100 million Emirates stumped up I will rename my house, kids and pets for them. Home to the countries finest football team, Arsenal, on Saturday those attending were not just entering a ... more

    Advantages Advantages Amazing stadium

Disadvantages Disadvantages So big it takes ages to get to my seat

*Introduction* The Emirates stadium is truly amazing. I absolutely love going to watch the mighty Arsenal play in this magnificent stadium. My first visit to the stadium wasn't a successful one for Arsenal as despite winning against PSV 2-1, we were knocked out of the Champions League. I have since been several times and my next visit is on today for the FA Cup clash with Cardiff. I cannot wait! Come on you Gunners! *The Need For A New Stadium* In the late 1990's Arsenal began looking to expand Highbury. This was due to the fact that Arsenal's season ticket list was constantly growing. At the ... more

Advantages Advantages best thing is the Mexican wave!

Disadvantages Disadvantages expensive food, long cues

Yesterday I went to my first ever footie match at Arsenal's Emirates Stadium to watch 2 matches, first Valencia vs Inter Milan, the second was Arsenal vs Paris St Germain. An excellent day, first match started 2.00 second 4.00, was home by 7.30. Ticket cost: £25 for both matches worth it? definitely, this was an experience I will never forget. The weather was excellent and we arrived there by tube (came out at Arsenal station turned right and walked down the road (5 mins) with hundreds of fans towards the stadium. A sea of red covered the street with the occasional white shirt (Arsenals new ... more

    Advantages Advantages Impressive stadium

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Crowded when leaving

When the significant other offerred me the chance a couple of weeks ago to go with him to see Arsenal play against Charlton at the new stadium he had been prattling on about for the last eighteen months I though why not as I had nothing planned for that weekend, I was less impressed when I discovered that actually it was a mid week game and I would be spending a cold Wednesday night shivering trying not to inhale the beer fumes from those around me as naturally significant other expected me to drive so that he could enjoy a beer. The stadium is certainly impressive and very modern and is ... more
