Advantages Advantages Impressive Scope, Great depth, Visually stunning

Disadvantages Disadvantages A bit same-y, Long loading times, Occasionally wretched AI

The one-trick ponies over at Creative Assembly continue their quest for world domination with “Empire: Total War”. The fifth main title in the Total War franchise, has you charging, shooting, trading and counter-spying your way around the globe as gunpowder becomes widely utilized and turns warfare mechanics upside-down. ***The Story*** The Main Campaign focuses on one of recent history's biggest landmarks, the emergence of the United States. “Road to Independence” starts with Britain's first attempts to colonize the New World at the expense of the native Indians, continues with the fierce ... more

Advantages Advantages Graphics, Excitement, Longevity, Accuracy, Ease of Use

Disadvantages Disadvantages Twists your memory of real history, takes over your life

Empire: Total War I have followed the Total War franchise since its very beginnings in 2000, and this is by far the most complete and most fun game of any. 'Basic Description' The game requires the player to take control of a selected nation from the 18th Century, from the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland to the Prussian Empire. From here, you use a map of the world to move about armies, plan city development, assassinate, spy and generally build your empire. When it comes to a battle, the game switches into a real-time battlefield view, where you control every single one of your ... more

Advantages Advantages so many options, great battles, entertaining for hours, multiplayer options, realistic, historical

    Disadvantages Disadvantages complicated

Ok, so as a typical fan of games such as the Sims and Grand theft auto, playing Empire total war was a little different for me. I would never have actually played this game had it not been that my boyfriend was in the shower and left the game on. Being curious, I decided to just give the game a quick play and it was not long before I became addicted. The game is a strategy game and is the fifth game in the Total war series. To summarise the game, it is basically a game where you are a country who uses their army to try take over other countries. Additionally, you can do cool and realistic ... more

    Advantages Advantages Stunning Graphics

    Disadvantages Disadvantages Poor Gameplay, Price

I have owned and played the 2 previous titles from this series both of which have taken up large parts of my time. The games were relatively simple in there premise of command and conquer and were challenging enough to make the player go back and play again and again. However having purchased this game only 2 months ago I found myself quickly becoming bored of it and only played it for 3 weeks. Before I go into detail about the many poor aspects of the game it does have a significant advantage over previous titles and it challengers. The graphics are simply stunning, so much so that during ... more

Advantages Advantages Huge land battles, new sea battles, massive campaign map

Disadvantages Disadvantages Have to have online steam account to play

Aside from the fact that you have to have an online steam account to play this game , which in my opinion is an awful idea i think this is the next step in the total war series , it has been simplified a bit to previous games in the series and has added in some new things that blow you away. this game makes the oceans a key part of the game, which in my opinion makes it stand out in front of any other game of its type , the sea battles and trade routes only amplify this. The land battles are as ever absolutely unbelievable as the series has been known for, the choice of nations, huge campaign ... more
