Advantages 30% off RRP, good service, nice site
Disadvantages No order tracking yet
I bought a digital camera from empiredirect just 3 days ago. After a lengthy search around all my usual online/highstreet retailers they were the cheapest by £30 (camera £279. A saving on the the normal price of £80)
They promised to deliver the camera within 3-5 days, mine took 1 week however this was because the camera was currently out of stock. I emailed them after the 5 days was up and a got a rapid phone call back from one of their sales staff who informed me that it would be delivered on the coming tuesday.... and much to my surprise it was dlivered 9am on that tuesday, which i was quite impressed at as i have had many instances with other companies when promised dates have been missed... not with empiredirect though.The website enables you to save 30% of all forms of electrical equipment, including the following... audio visual,home appliances, in-car media, computing, communication and photography. It is definitely worth a look to compare thier prices with other as I will assure you that in 90% of cases they are hard to beat on price.
Currently they are working on a an order tracking service, which was promised at the end of june, however i cannot fine any evidence of it in use yet, when it does finaly appear it will be a very useful component to the website.The only other thing to mention is that once you have placed an order you simply get a number which you need to print off or write down, this is far less comprehensive that Dabs.com for instance, who provide full details of your order and its content, date of order, modifications to order etc (dabs is definitely the benchmarch for order tracking at the moment).... although hopefully thier order tracking facility will encompass these factors once it is up and running......
Overall if your looking for an electrical appliance etc then i would definitely check out empiredirect as they are really hard to beat on price, and its not too good to be true, as with some other cheap electrical sites which sometimes fail to deliver...........

very useful -its always good to know how good the delivery is when ordering online on instock/ out of stock items. It is also good to read a review from someone that has used the Service. (I have been looking at empire direct for many months now and always wondered what the delivery was like, Looking for a DVD player/digital camera at moment!) thanks for that.
