My partner Insured with Endsleigh in September 2011. She retired in November of the same year & contacted Endsleigh to inform them of this, hoping that her insurance would be cheaper. Instead they said they would charge her an extra £71.22 because they said, wait for it...THEY THINK SHE WOULD BE USING HER CAR MORE, BY DRIVING AROUND RANDOM STREETS SHE DIDN'T KNOW,WHILST LOOKING FOR JOBS & THEREFORE WOULD BE MORE LIKELY TO BE INVOLVED IN AN ACCIDENT !! Despite the fact she had only used her car twice in the space of two weeks at the time she rang them! They took money from her over the phone stating that if she didn't they would invalidate her insurance there and then!!
Today 24/4/12 she rang endsleigh to inform them that she would be changing her address on 1st may 2012. They want to charge £50 for the privilege, or take out a new insurance for £370 to take effect on 1/5/12 for twelve months & refund £96 for the insurance not used on her current policy!
Original insurance: £303 + £71.22 for retiring + £50 for change of address = £424.22 or take out a new policy £370 less the £96 they would refund her...how kind of them!!
Don't think she will bother with Endsleigh again they seem like a right profiteering rip-off company !!!
