LEARN TO TEACH

Advantages: Great tutors, recognised institution and qualification
Disadvantages: Q. expensive

A quick search on Google can bring up hundreds of possibilities. There are language schools, agencies, universities, HE colleges, Mrs. Bloggs down the road, you name it. I chose Leeds Met, and here I’ll explain why.

Unlike university degrees, ...
...a good academic CV. GCSE English at grade C (or equivalent) is a must. You will find the course very, very difficult if you don’t have the basics of spelling and punctuation. Grammar is taught on the course, but the more you know beforehand the easier it will be. On application, (which can be done by snail or online), you will have to complete a pre-interview task. Part time CELTA Oxford House College

Advantages: Getting a certifcate
Disadvantages: 3 very difficult months

Advantages: See the World
Disadvantages: You'll have permanently itchy feet

TEFL= Teaching English as a Foreign Language I became a TEFL teacher because I?d got the travel bug after spending 6 months trekking around South America after I graduated, and I thought it would be a fun way to see the world and get paid for it. Like any job, there are pros and cons about doing it, and there are also quite a lot of myths about TEFL which I would like to try and dispel here. First off, there are acronyms galore in the TEFL industry, but they all boil down to nuances of the same thing. Here are some common ones: CELTA- Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (this is the newest general TEFL ...
