The English Rose could be described as the british beauty. It comes in a whole range of colours although the most common is red and it's fragrance is clear and sweet. The flower has a very defined shape and is often seen as representational of love.
COLOUR RANGE, SCENT & ROBUSTNESS: Red is the most common as for-said. This red has alot of intensity, and is almost a blood red. As deep as the colour is, so is its sweet fragrence and its symbolic representation of love.
The next colour we could discuss is not so common: pink petals with a yellow interior. These roses are very delicate and are not as robust as the red rose. The shape is not so well defined either, nor the scent so clear and precious, but this is a softer and in some ways more beautiful rose and you can make a gentler statement by giving these.
The most rare, but most beautiful roses around have white petals with a deep red interior. The white symbolising innocence and purity whilst the red represents to depth and intensity of passionate love. These roses are quite robust and have a beautiful scent...
- When i get married next year i thik i will definitly be including these roses in the colour scheme as they are so intensly beautiful, precious and rare. That, i think, symbolises true love: being intensly beautiful, precious and rare! -
...Anyway, back on with the opinion!
Roses last for ages and are a wonderful buy as cut flowers becasue they last for so long and make someone feel very loved (unless they have hayfever!). Growing roses is somewhat more difficult. They take alot of time and alot of TLC (Tender Loving Care). I leave growing roses up to my granny - i don't know much about doing so, so i don't think i should comment to much on this. I do know that when she is successful they are beautiful but then again she probably spends 3/4 hours per day in the garden so for all of us with busier schedules it may not be so easy!
I love the white/red roses most of all and then the red roses, and then last but not least the pink/yellow rose. But in saying that, they are all beautiful! Alot can be said with a rose, so if you are buying them, consider carefully the message you want to be giving!
I heard that you should cut the ends off roses underwater in a vase to make them last longer (and avoid airbubbles)...just a snippet of useless info there! Good opinion.
what an interesting topic for a young girl to write on. I enjoyed it and would love you to have mentioned the names particularly of the one you really like (red and white) Cheers Elspeth
