Hair removal - Most girls dream of low maintenance, silky smooth, hairless legs that stay that way for weeks. I am one of those girls too. I have tried waxing, which is effective, but painful, messy and time consuming, wax strips - cheap but somewhat ineffective, depilitory cream, smelly, mucky and time consuming. I've tried shaving with literally every device on the market..mainly with good results...but usually with a lot of pain and a lot of hassle.

I was flicking through the Sky tv channels and I came across a product being demonstrated on one of the shopping channels. It's name? Epil stop and spray and wipe away. I watched in awe as the product was sprayed onto the back of a guy who was as hairy as Guy the Gorilla! A few seconds later they got a cloth and literally wiped the area..the hair just "lifted" off to reveal a perfectly pink strip of smooth, well conditioned skin. Then a gaggle of giggling (hairy legged) young ladies where shown spraying this miracle liquid onto their calves and again wiping the hair completely clean in a matter of seconds. The girls began to ummm and ahhhh about the glorious, fresh fruity smell of this product and said much the same as I did in my first paragraph about the alternative methods of hair removal. I was tempted..until I saw the price!

The price was a whopping £29.99 and that's before adding p&p. But then I had to consider that they were offering not one, but 4 bottles of the product, a roll on container full of product to be used on one's upper lip (not necessary for me, I hasten to add...nevertheless!) and a generous container full of skin conditioning fake tan that would compliment my new stubble free legs perfectly.

I decided that I couldn't justify spending this sort of money on my own vanity, so I decided to check out Ebay, and sure enough somebody was selling a complete unopened set for a mere £17 with no p&p to pay! I bid immediately.

The product arrived, the four bottles were minute! they each contained 59ml of the product . Which seemed a bit stupid to me, considering, put them all in one container which amounts to less than 240ml which is still a small container. In fact my stinky superdrug "shower off " depilitory contained more than that, and it set me back no more than 89p! Obviously the bottles looked huge on the screen and I'm sure the small print told you how much was in each bottle...you kind of don't notice these minor details when a product is made to look so good!

The spray was a pump action spray, and it didn't really spray at all, just made a feeble trickle down your leg. In fact the instructions told you to rub it in with your fingertips, so the spray attachment was pretty superfluous in my opinion.

The product STANK. It was supposed to smell of cucumber and melon...I don't know how they could say that because all it smelled of was chemicals. It smelled stronger and more caustic than the cheapest, harshest depilitories on the market.

Anyway, I sprayed ( well trickled on and rubbed) left it for the recommended 8 minutes...at least they made it clear on the demo that the seconds they'd show was just to speed up the demo. I excitedly fetched a damp flannel wiped and looked at the flannel and there was about 4 hairs on it, the rest remained firmly attached to my leg! So I left it a little longer, and still, nothing! So there I was ..the room stank, my legs were still hairy. and now I had a slimy, smelly flannel to wash

I tried the product again just for good measure and the results were just as non existent.

As for the fake tan...forget it. If you can cast you mind back to the first self tanning creams to hit the shops in the 70's that left you looking blotchy and embarrased, then this will whisk you straight back......I followed the instructions to the letter and ended up looking like a complete twat!!! That went straight in the bin, along with the roll on tache remover. In fact the whole lot has subsequently hit the bin!!!!!

Unlike some testers of this product have reported, I didn't find it irritating in the slightest, in fact in left my hairy legs feeling really smooth and moisturised, then so does my Superdrug 89p body lotion!

As stupid as it sounds, How I wish I'd paid full whack for it from TV shop..at least I could have claimed a full refund, I don't suppose I'd be that lucky with that sort of product when buying from Ebay...I guess I could have tried but it seemed like too much hassle somehow.

This product is a RIP OFF...the only thing it won't rip off is hair, unfortunately!

If I can stop just ONE person wasting their money on this useless product, then this review's been worth it.

I don't know how they make the tv demo look so feasable, they are obviously using more trick camera work than we thought, or they're using a completely different product..who knows!?

PLEASE DON'T BUY IT
