I purchased an Epiphone Les Paul Gold Top because I had heard many great things about this guitar, and about the Les Paul range, and from the minute I plugged in to the minute I started ripping up some solos, this guitar has not once left me wanting more. ...you crank this guitar up to a high volume, and put the gain up towards 10, you get an absolutely incredible cutting distorted sound, not as crisp as a Les Paul standard, but much more defined. Played clean, the guitar can resonate some gorgeous tones. It carries a bit more weight than a standard, but it packs more of a punch.
