FIRST OF ALL: I recently bought a Casino, the new Casino Bigsby. I own four other guitars, a Rickenbacker 360/12v64, a Gibson j160e, a Gretsch Country classic 1962 II and a US fender stratocaster. Still the Casino is one of the best guitars I have ever played.
I play in a Beatles tribute band, I play the role of Harrison, and of course the Casino was a must. So when I spotted the Casino Bigsby, I was in Love right away and lucky enough for me this guitar is as good as it is cheap ......itīs a real must-have for every Beatle maniac ;o)
ABOUT THE CASINO: Almost everything about this guitar is pure joy, the playing action, the construction, the sound. The only thing about this guitar I donīt like is the fake Kluson-style tuners. These should have been swabbed into something better before it left the factory.
THE SOUND: The sound in this guitar is perfect. It has the treble of a vintage ES335 and the playability of a Stratocaster. All though the p90 pick upīs aren't US made, they at fairly good enough. The new Casino has a little brighter sound than the old original Casino. If you want a little more punch in your sound, the p90 can easily be changed into the US models. It tends to feedback at high volume.
THE PLAYABILLITY: The playing action on this model is like a dream. Right out of the box at the shop, It was in tune and the strings was laying just perfect. The guitar has stayed this way, even after "like a thousand" gigs.
THE CONSTRUCSION: I you compare this Casino with the old 60īs made Casino, youīll see that this new model is made more hard shell-like, than the older more softy jazz body Casino. This change in construction might curse the brighter sound youīll find in the new models. The new Casino is better constructed than the older models, but as I said, this also brightens the sound.
THE HARDWARE: .....well I have swabbed three things. 1. The pots 2. The switch 3. The tuners
ALL IN ALL: I would recommend anyone to buy this guitar anytime. If I lost this one, I would order a new one right away.
