The fretboard is made of rosewood with tapazoid inlays which i think looks great. The pickups are 2 humbeckers which give a really good full sound which is great for what i like to play (lostprophets, Blink 182, Oasis, really a bit of anythin but im not into all that really heavy metal). It has 22 frets which is 1 more than my old stagg guitar.
it has 3 setting for the pickups a rythm, a treble and a mix between the two of them. It has a great range of tones from very full deep sounds to a less full more treble sound.
The shape of the guitar is great with a double cut body in a sort of demon shaped head style. In comparison to the body the necks seems guite long compared to other guitars like maybe a stratocaster but its actually shorter making it easyier to play.
I find it alot easier to play than my old guitar and feels much beter and feels like its worth more than what i payed for it. I payed £250 when in other places it can cost as much as £300. I got a great deal for it.
I think the SG is probably the best guitar to get if you're looking for a guitar between £200 and £300 because you could go for a strat style but so many people have that or you could go for a les paul but once again many people have those. You could also go for something with a wee bit more style and design to make it stand out but then you're paying for what it looks like not what it sounds like. The SG sits in the middle there being not a very widley used guitar but it sounds great and looks great.
I would definitely recomend it to anyone if you're a relly good player or just a begginer. You could get a Gibson SG if you've got a good bit more money but then you pay for the name of the guitar and not as much the guitar itself. Its not the bottom of the range or the top but its in the middle and thats what i was looking for so i got it and it was fantastic! I love my SG!
Advantages: great colour, great look, very pleasant to use Disadvantages: sounds is not heavy enough when distorted

1863: Anastasios Stathopoulos is born in Sparta, Greece. His father Nicolas Stathopoulos is a lumber merchant. 1873: Anastasios builds his first instruments (according to Epiphone literature of the 1930s). 1877: The Stathopoulos family moves to Smyrna in Asiatic Turkey. 1893: Epimanondas (Epi), ... ...Epi in charge. Although the Epiphone brand name is still a few years in the future, the modern Epiphone company begins in 1915 when Epi takes over the family business. Brother Orphie is second in command. Frixo and Minnie will also eventually become active in the company. 1917: Epi begins labeling instruments with the House of Stathopoulo brand. The era of the tenor banjo is beginning, and Epi is granted his first patent for banjo construction. 1923: ...

Advantages: Looks fantastic Disadvantages: Headstock falls to the floor unless you hang on to it.
This was the second decent guitar I bought. I learned to play on a Les Paul copy, but the poor high fret access and weight meant that this guitar was difficult to play live. So an SG seemed an obvious progression, and why not a top-of-the-range Epiphone?
The first thing that I noticed when took it out of its box was the colour. In the magazine it looked kinda vintage-white, but it looks much more yellow in real life.
The playability of this guitar ... ...me as a Les Paul devotee. The high fret access is virtually second-to-none, and the general feel of the neck is quality.
When plugged in, the G400 excels. The pickups are pretty good for the price, if lacking a little in top end. I always play with the middle pickup turned off, though. "Surely that's the point of the Custom" I hear you cry - well it just looks cool.
The only thing I don't like about this guitar (now I've covered it with stickers) ...
