A real eye catching guitar is hard to come by. When I saw this in the shop, I knew it was something special.

Testing in the shop was minimal, I knew I wanted to get it home and play. You get two stock humbuckers. They may not seem up to much, but they produce some great sounds. The neck pickup has a smooth silky sound that will blend in nicely with a piano, acoustic or bass. The bridge pickup is a screamer! Full of treble and able to add a great dimension to the sound, without being over the top. When the switch is in the middle position, the pickups don't seem to mix well, probably because the sounds are polar opposites.
It borrows the volume and control knobs of a Gibson which I think make it look a lot better. They only seem to kick in after 2 and stop making a difference at around 8. All the electronics are great, especially for a model of this price but the flick switch breaks too easily and should go, even if it fits the look. Although mine has not broken completley, it works when it wants to and usually needs a quick flick or 4 to get it working again.
Build quality is quite good. The machine heads hold well, with no gear slippage and the fretboard is made very well, with no mistakes on the fret work, allowing for super slides at low action. It is also very easy to change the action using the great tailpiece. Its has survived many drops (not recommended) and a few knocks on doors and even closing a car boot on it.
I've used it for some live work and also recording at home. It is the first gutiar I pick up if I have something in my head or want to play along with something. I run it through a Marshall Amp and it performs very well both for studio and live conditions. It's best matched with a bass for rhythm, not giving a strong enough sound for solo's.
Even though I have treated it quite badly, it has survived well and still looks great, the paintwork holding up well. For the price, I cant see many other guitars beating it on looks, build and usability. If you are undecided, don't be, it's a brilliant investment.
