The Epipiphone Hummingbird is my first Acoustic guitar i have not stolen off my dad. £300 is not a bad deal, seeing as the Gibson acoustics are all around £3000. The looks and finish of this guitar are very nice, i enjoy graphics on my guitar as long as they arent too loud, and this 'mockingbird' illustration is just plain pleasent. The shape of the guitar is perfect so that it can sit on your lap for hours and not ache, partly due to its incredibly light weight. The playability is pretty much perfect, the best you can get for a £300 acoustic, and times I thought I was playing an electric, the fretboard was just so slim, the strings were at perfect distance from the fretboard. The sound is not as good as the playability I must admit, probably because of the lightweight body, it is not hard enough to sustain the notes for a very long time, but I'd still say the sound and sustain are both average and what you'd expect for £300. I am unsure as to how long this guitar will last. Because of the wieght I am afraid to let it get bashed around at all, and the guitar did not include a hard case, only a gig bag. Still a worthy buy, excellent for £300, perfect for a begginer because of its excellent and easy playability, and fine more experienced guitarists to practise on as well.
This was the first acoustic I have ever purchased but i have owned 2 before it so I am versed in different styles. I am more then pleased with the way it plays. The sound is great, though your top E and A can come in a little strong for my liking, it is fantastic, and it looks great so you don't have to. At any rate it will last you a long time. I found this guitar to be very comparable to the dove for those interested in browsing. I payed $340 for mine and don't regret a cent.

Advantages: the smooth flowing fretboard ( hands dont stick ) Disadvantages: The style may not be for some peoples interests
...Tight, smooth, focused sounding are all the hallmarks of the Epiphone Dove AcousticGuitar, it is sister to the EpiphoneHummingbird. This baby really sings with a solid sound, its has staggeringly beautiful maple back and sides. The Epiphone Dove features an easy-playing 24-3/4" scale maple neck, rosewood fingerboard with split parallelogram inlays, dove pickguard, and stylized bridge with wing inlays. The Dove is amazingly light aswell you wont even know your holding it in your arms. Alltogether this product is a very nice guitar for the money that you will be paying for it, And trust me from experience from playing my next door neighbours and trying it out in the shops it is a "SWEET" guitar ! ! !...
