I personally love these guitars. i Bought one around 4 years ago when learning to play, it has never failed me, and has served me through many gigs.
These guitars are gorgeous and affordable, of course, i wanted the Gibson version, but could not afford it, but these are definitely the best under a grand version.
One of the few criticisms i have, is that they are quite heavy, (Only when compared to light guitars) which can impeed rocking out on stage, but once your used to it, it's fine.
there are cheaper versions ranging around £ 100-250 (not necessarily epiphone) but my experience of these have been disappointing, and so it seems to be worth spending the extra few pounds to get a guitar that will last you and that sounds great too, complimented with the right amp, these guitars are wonderful.
As an unbiased consumer, i would say if your looking for a guitar that looks nice plays well clean, but can also rock out when needed buy one! However if your looking for pure hard core heavy metal or somthing similar, or maybe are just starting to learn, then maybe not for you.
