Advantages: Guaranteed , excellent help with choosing, superb service Disadvantages: None
RAM it is. I buy a book and read some magazines and look on the internet. (Going to shops was frightening - apart from feeling stupid, the price can be off-putting).
There are millions of them!!! How do I know what to buy? How many MB can the PC take? How much is in? What speed? Is it SDRAM, SODIMM, DDR etc?
All I know is that I need more!!!
Help!
Then I found www.crucial.com and it all became clear (well, simple is a better word).
You feed in your PC details and they tell you what was in it originally. Not only that, but they also give you a list of memory sticks (getting technical now!) that are guaranteed to be compatible and also guaranteed for life.
If you are unsure of one or two bits of technical information needed to make the final choice, they tell you how to find it or you can download a little bit of software that whizzes ...
Advantages: SMall and easy to take around with you and for storing game saves Disadvantages: Expensive and a hard drive would be far more beneficial
If you purchase the xbox arcade console then you will get one of these 512mbmemory units free with the console. However if you opt to go for either the premium console or the elite console you will get the main hard drive for free and will have less need for these. I currently own both a 20gb hard drive and one of these 512mbmemory units as well.
What is it?:
This is a 512mbmemory unit for use in xbox 360 consoles - all of them whether they are the arcade or the elite. It is white to fit in with the typical colour of the console. It simply slots into a little slot which is appropriately ...
Advantages: Good Make, Good Value Disadvantages: None, Its memory.
At the end of the day memory is memory, whether it is a generic brand or Kingston or Crucial isn't really going to affect things that much.
However when choosing your memory be aware of what kind of memory it is you are choosing.
The first thing is MB - MegaByte. This could be 128, 256, 512 and so on the more Megabyte you have the quicker your system should run.
As this is 256MB you have a good size for running normal everyday tools such as Outlook, Internet and Word.
However if you are into CAD drawing, using your PC as server or intense games you might want to look at 512MB.
The next thing is memory speed. In this case it is 333mhz (PC2700).
It could be 266mhz or 400mhz. Obviouslt the higher the better. However in order to really utilise this you need to have a processor that has a front side bus of the same or faster ...
