Please note - I'll add to this review the more we use the printer.
There are not many colour laser printers on the market so our choice was limited, but we are reasonable happy with this. Couple of down sides, it is quite noisy and can sometimes take a while to get started. However, once going the quality and speed is great. The scanner is excellent too, although it does not have word recognition, at least I can not find it in the settings menu. Rather annoyingly to some people in the office you have to press a number of buttons to get it to scan, then it'll warm up and eventually print. Some people get bored of waiting, start pressing buttons and end up with too many copies. Also there is no sheet feeder, but this might be available as an extra. Our IT dept are investigating.
The first black standard toner cartridge had to be replaced after we had printed 2850 pages, 2043 were colour and 807 were black. Which was a complete pain to change. Normally I would always recommend the Hewlett Packard option, although I have not used the Hewlett Packard printer it is expensive in comparison. We manged to get this unit for around £500.
About 2 weeks ago we started getting messages to change the cartridges and then today I attempted to print something only to be met with a good 10 minutes of whirring. The printer said it was "calibrating printer", eventually we get the message "change cyan cartridge". Why did we need the 10 minutes of calibrating? Thankfully I wasn't rushing anywhere. So we change the cartridge, a little easier 2nd time around but get covered in ink powder in the process. The cyan standard toner cartridge had to be replaced after we had printed 5682 pages, 4125 were colour and 1557 were black. Set of cartridges (Black high capacity, Colour standard) cost £138 Now we come to changing the third cartridge, and it's the yellow one. As this is now the third one we've changed I have to say that changing the cartridges isn't that bad once you know how to. This one went without a hitch. The yellow standard toner cartridge had to be replaced after we had printed 6638 pages, 4848 were colour and 1790 were black. The charge cartridge alarm does come up very early, which is quite annoying unless you turn the alarm off on your PC. The Magenta cartridge required replacing after 8092 pages, 5841 colour and 2251 black and white. (don't know why they call it black and white, it only prints black!)
