Advantages: Easy to use, good picture quality Disadvantages: Fairly large by modern standards
I was able to obtain this at a very advantageous price: at full RRP I probably would not have chosen it.
Very easy to set up, though sometimes switching between the many options in the set-up menus can be cumbersome. Has the option of DVI input which not all projectors have, which suits my Apple Powerbook well, and I've been able to do joint presentations with both my Powerbook and someone else's PC-laptop plugged into the projector simulatneously, switching back and forth between the two computers simply using the projector's remote control.
As with all DLP projectors the colours look a bit cold on screen, even after profiling with a Spyder, but it is a lot better than other (more expensive!) DLP projectors which I've seen in action. ...
Advantages: Good price Disadvantages: Low resolution
This is projector is affordable but still has some positive features. The resolution of 1024x768 allows clear projection with much detail. However if you are interested in High definition or multimedia i would not recommend this. However for business or education this is perfect. The 2200 ANSILumens allows the pictures to be very bright in well lit conditions. It was very easy to set this up and epson provided all the cables in needed. This epson website is also very helpful for driver and software updates. Even though this is not a DLP projector i think this projector meets its demands nicely and is a good price. Other products to consider would be the Optoma range since they also are very good. ...

Manufacturer's product description
The Epson EB-1720 projector has the power to deliver bright, high-contrast images in clear colour. It's also lightweight and compact making it ideal for the busy professional on the move. This projector is easy to set up and operate, leaving the presenter free to concentrate on both the audience and the presentation.Quiet and compact, it would go unnoticed if it wasn't so good to look at. Eye-catching and practical. This projector is no larger than an A4 sheet of paper and weighing just 1.7kg, it really is compact and light weight. The EB-1720 projector is supplied with a protective carry case, this case also has space for relevant accessories.A sliding lens shutter can instantly cut the image and sound this will allow the audience to focus entirely on the presenter. Set up takes only six seconds and shut down is almost immediate as no cool down period is required - this unprecedented for a 3000 lumens lamp. An exhaust pushes out hot air from the front rather than the sides, so the projector can be placed close to your audience without bothering them.
