Advantages: Fast, excellent quality, relatively cheap to buy Disadvantages: Bland design, high cost of consumables
I'm quite fond of Epson laser printers, for me they represent good quality and speed at phenomenally low prices. My first Epson laser printer was the EPL 5700L, but things have moved on since then. That was a bog standard, 8 pages per minute printer, but it didn't stop me being impressed, you can read my earlier review on this printer in my archive. But I knew my EPL 5700 wasn't going to last forever, and when I found out it needed its toner replacing which would cost £50, I thought I'd jump in and buy a new one (I was in a spending mood!) When Looking at printers I think theres a few things to bear in mind, so I present to you...

Advantages: Highly industrial, capable of printing off at amazing speeds. Low noises. Is aesthetically pleasing. Disadvantages: Slightly pricy. Few extra features.
If you've ever been a student, you'll know how difficult it is to tackle exam revision, coursework. and homework assignments. Not to mention the pressures each subject can take upon a person. You'd also realize the amount of emphasis in recent times on using computers and IT related utilities in order to accomplish the aformentioned tasks. My sixth form department recently purchased this, the EpsonEPL 6200N, a laser printed designed for medium sized workgroups within any office or school.
With the latest set of A - Level exams just a few months away, and with several sheets worth of information needing printing, I had the oppurtunity to test the EPL 6200N out...

Advantages: Very Quick to print. Good DPI. GREAT value for money. Disadvantages: Ugly. not practical for large buisness'
for the toner cartridges is 3000 sheets of paper and the amount of pages printed before the superconductor is useless is in the excess of 20,000. comparing the amount of paper printed against the shelf life of the consumables is extremely good for home use and that of a small business.
Conclusion.
Epson have always been ahead of the field in printers, bringing high-quality machines to the high street at affordable prices. The price my dad paid for this printer a few months ago was £110 and he hasn?t had to place a single penny into the machine since. The only downside I can think of to the printer is its design and that it would not be suitable for a large office. But for the price the printer certainly excels in all necessary fields and quite a few unnecessary ones as well.
