Text printing is the weakness of this printer, anything below 8pt isn't really recomended. I would suggest that people who buy this printer have the purpose of either general use or photoprinting. J.K.Rowling i would invest in a printer that was more adept to text printing, however for everyday joe's like me this printer is fine. On a normal 12pt or higher it must be noted there is little or no trouble with text printing.
Speed is very much in your hands, on photo quality print leaning on quality over speed its quite slow however if you need to quickly run something off then its more than capable of that too.
The Photo 890 is also very quiet for an injet printer, it creates almost no disturbance at all.

a disadvantage in that the cartridge runs out so quickly. (I believe in more modern Epson printers each colour has its separate cartridge which is a money saving cost worth thinking about). Overall for the money this printer is ideal for amateurs and professionals working on an A4 level.

I bought this printer to go with with my Fuji 4800. I needed a printer that would be able to match the amazing quality of this camera, and it looks like ive found one with the Epson Photo 890.
Features
Unlike "normal" inkjet printers , this photo printer uses a 5 colour cartridge and a black one, whereas most printers use a 3 colour cartridge and a black one. This does'nt sound like a lot, but it actually gives you much better colour definition, especially on skin tones, and areas where you find lots of very similar colours.
It has two different connections, both parallel (for the older computers) and USB. The USB is preferable as it is much quicker to actually send the document to print, and allows for easier installation.
