Advantages: Good resolution, good build quality, good drivers, price Disadvantages: A little slow
...and 12 bit grey. The maximum interpolated resolution is 9600 PPI. The scanning area is 8.50 x 11.70 inches.
The output is sometimes a little dark and is over sensitive to red but this can be changed through either software after the scan or throught the driver before scanning.
You can buy a transparancy adaptor to scan films and slides and so forth.
Overall the scanner is excellent value for money and produces much better scans than other more expensive scanners I have used from the likes of Hewlett Packard, Canon and Epson....
