I bought this scanner to get a load of my old photos onto cd. I was not disappointed with the quality of the scans it was very good.
The software that comes with the scanner is very good, enabling you to be able to do colour restoration and to edit the photos. I was impressed with the fact that I could scan 35mm film negatives, however even with instructions and my hubby being practically a member of mensa we could not and still have not worked it out.
It has a usb connection which for me is a pain because I have to keep unplugging other equipment to use it.
There is an annoying message that comes up sometimes, saying "please wait the scanner is warming up" with today’s technology im surprised Epson choose this phrase!
The scanning is a little slower than I would like but as they say the best things come to those that wait and I was not disappointed with the scanning quality.

Although there are a few minor discrepancies, this scanner I bought I am over all impressed with it.

Review of Epson Perfection 2480 Photo by  Wearsidelass

Advantages: Stores all your old photos
Disadvantages: None at all

...time I will probably learn more features about this scanner and I know I will enjoy doing so. Now to the cost - £80 and what a bargain at PC World. On the day I purchased this scanner I had taken in 3 old photos to a local photographers to get 3 sets taken so that I could send them to my 2 brothers and sister. I was charged, wait for it, £1.39 for each copy making a total cost of just over £13!!!!! I know, I couldn’t believe it – they took my photos and scanned them straightaway and told me the cost on completion! So I reckon £80 for this scanner is well worth it. However, as I post this review I notice that Ciao state you can obtain it for £71 so that's an even better price! Brilliant Scanner now at a very good price!
Review of Epson Perfection 2480 Photo by  priesty8899

Advantages: Great quality!
Disadvantages: erm... takes up room on the desk?!? no good for anything much bigger than A4

...I have owned the epson 2480 scanner now for quite a while, and its brilliant! It has loads of features and good software, making it very versatile and it is now available for around £60 if you shop around a little - a great adition to your PC. This really is a great scanner, and for those who have an out-dated scanner that really isn't up to much it might be time to make an upgrade. This scanner provides the user with the capabilities of restoring photographs to their original glory. When used properly, you can take your old tattered and battered photographs that have been ruined by scratches and smudges and people's inconsiderate greasy fingers and make them good as new! It can take some time however to get them lookng spic and span. This scanner is also good for producing multiple copies of photographs. This is not only beacuse... Read review
