What is this?

Epsons Perfection V500 Photo is a flatbed scanner made to capture great high quality images from Film negatives!Thats right this scanner captures images from film negatives as well as letting you scan normal documents and photographs.

The scanner is impressive as it scans high quality sharp looking images all thanks to the scaners optics.The scanner like all scanners has the option of editing with the brightness,contrast as well as tone correction features.The editing has a little more options that normal scanners offer which is great bonus.

Notes

* The highest resolution when scanning normal documents for the scanner is 3,200 Dpi

*It is really easy to scan negatives

* Quite a range of options for editing the pictures

The Scanner

The Scanner comes with a frame a plastic one which you clip on sections of films and put into the scanner glass for scanning.There is a white document inside the mat which must be removed off to see another a light source which shines through when the film is being scanned to be captured correctly and accurately.

Using the Scanner

When putting your film in for scanning you have the on screen options to choose which frame of the film you want to scan.Once you have chosen what you want to scan each frame you have choose to scan are all then scanned as seperate images.Single frames take less than a minute to scan.The higher the resolution is for example 6.400 dpi the more longer it would take to scan about 4 minutes at times.The higher resolution scans had great colour to them and the scans were really impressive.

Overall

The Scanners not a cheap one it is about 190 pounds in normal shops and off Internet sites to.I would recommend buying this only if you like to scan negatives if not do not buy it theres no need for it its just like a normal scanner in its document and photo scanning wise.There are a lot of good options although with the photo editing and the transparecy scans were impressive.Overall the price is a bit too high for many people out there i would suggest going with the V100 rather than this.
