Surprisingly easy is the answer, but then, I work in IT. If I couldn't fit this, I'm pretty much ... ...of the printer, click out the old one, click in the new one, close lid.
The printer recognizes it automatically and you are off and running again.
As far as price goes, it's neither here nor there. The unit is necessary for the printer, and you look at that first when deciding on a printing solution.

Undo the front of the printer, click out the old one, click in the new one, close lid.
The printer recognizes it automatically and you are off and running again.
