Advantages crisp images

Disadvantages price

I love experimenting with photography and enjoy printing my own photographs at home. I have an Epsom printer and only use Epsom ink in it. I thought I’d give this photograph paper a try after being recommended by a friend. He is a professional photographer so he should know what he is talking about.

*Price and availability*

The first packet I bought of this cost me around £12.99 for a pack of thirty sheets and I got them from Tesco. After being told that I had paid too much I looked around on line and found that someone was selling them on EBay for £5.99! I bought three packets and was over the moon with the saving I had incurred.

Amazon currently has packs of 30 on offer for £8.55.

*Description*

The sheets measure 130 mm x 180 mm. This is the typical 5” x 7” photograph size which is perfect because it involves no trimming or cutting. I’ve previously bought A4 sized paper but with these already cut to size, you get a professional finish to your photographs.

The paper weight is 255 g/m2. They feel exactly the same as photographs you would collect from a store. On one side of the paper it is very glossy and the other is dull. You have to make sure you put the paper in the right way in the printer to make sure you print on the right side of the sheet.

The paper is designed for use with an ink jet printer and for print resolutions up to 1440 dpi which is an extremely high resolution.

*My opinion*

For an ink jet printer, the results are pleasing and the quality is superb. The paper is thick and rich and forms a perfect medium for your photographs to be printed on. The colours of the images are extremely rich and vivid and the lines are sharp and crisp.

The first time I printed on this paper I was shocked at how beautiful the images were. I was also impressed with how fast the ink dried even though I do leave them to one side for a few minutes before touching them.

I would recommend people try this paper when I bought the packets from eBay, I was only paying 19p a photograph which I think is good value for money when the quality is this fantastic.

If you were buying from Amazon at the current prices you will be paying about 29p a sheet. Therefore it will be advisable to shop around.
